Anyone heard of Agape Montessori at Thomson Road? I only know that their fee is not cheap, around $1000 plus and they don't require the kids to wear uniform. Other than this, I don't know much about the school curriculum, teachers, environment etc. Would appreciate any comments on this school. :thankyou:

          Hi hi,

I have a 2 year old and now scrambling to decide on where to send him to next year. Been living in a blissful daze of motherhood! Recently realised that most popular schools (good ones?) have already been booked out eons ago, and the waiting lists is too long. Faint…

Have read this thread and am so appreciative of the advise and sharing by parents. Can someone tell me which Montessori around the west/Holland/Bukit Timah area is recommended and stay true to the Montessori way of teaching? I am looking for either mixed age or same age class, but allowing kids to progress at their own pace.

Does Montessori kids get to play outdoors too? Coz sounds like they do a lot of indoor mat work…

Also, which age is better to start, 3 or 4?

          Thanks in advance…

              Hi toddles

Josiah toddler classes introduce Music & movement, Art & craft,
simple gym play (like mini obstacle circuits), phonics, montessori mat
time where the children are free to choose work they like to do eg.
practical skills (pouring, scooping, combing etc)/ puzzles/ blocks/ books
              or toys.
Learning is certainly through play in a way.

I am not sure abt the nursery/ kindergarten level but it should be as
holistic as well. From my understanding, they provide very good
enrichment classes for the K1, K2.
Worth a visit & talk to the course coordinator or teachers for more info.
I often see interested parents popping by with accompanied staff, of
course, to peep through the glass panels during lesson time.

The setback is that their strength is more on English only,
not Chinese or other Mother tongue Lang.

Also, the environ is fully air-con with no outdoor playgrd, but classrooms
are spacious & organised & some with large viewing glass panels.

Although they provide a water dispenser & tissue papers outside the
classroom for children to wash/ dry their hands after the activities,
would prefer a non air-con kindy to minimise easy spread of illnesses.

Would say their course fees is one of the highest, which would put many off.

As i stay in Punggol, travelling is too long & tiring for my lil bud.
Had enrolled her in Bridges Montessori which is stone's throw from home.

              Hi Rachelmum,
as I couldn't find any website or info on this school, would like to check with you more about bridges montessori.

Is this a kindergarden or childcare?

Just called the centre today. Bridges Montessori is a kindergarden. For those who are interested. Their fees are:-

                    Half day 8:30 - 12:30 - $1200
                    Full day 8:30 - 2:00 - $2100 (with enrichment)

As the fees quite steep for my current income. I'll have to give it a miss.

Is that per month or per term? usually they charge per 10 week term?
