Hi, I guess so. My child applied to SCGS Science. But we didn't get any email to go for the test. So I think most likely, she's not shortlisted.
Hi,
If we didn't receive email for SCGS Dance video recording, does it mean that the child is not shortlisted? We have submitted the 1 min video recording during the application period.

Hi parents
Pardon me for my ignorance on DSA’s purpose. I had a misconception that success DSA would guarantee a Group 3 (express for all subjects) placement.
Would like to clarify the following examples:
Reason for DSA into IP school is clear, as in there are no Group 3, 2, 1 ranging (aka express, normal, normal tech on the subject base), so great if child able to secure a place via DSA
But if DSA to a neighbourhood sec sch, it does not mean the child is able to be in Group 3 if psle score range is in Group 2?
In this case, the child need not even DSA? If the final psle score fall within Group 2, child still able to enter this sch? If DSA, the same score still falls in Group 2. So it does not make sense to DSA to a sec school with Group 1, 2, 3 range?
Eg:
Sec Sch A:
Group 3 score range - 10~14
Group 2 score range - 21~23
Group 1 score range - 25 ~ 27
Say Child accepted DSA and psle scored 20. Child still in Group 3?
If child scored a 22, Child will be in Group 2, but if no DSA child may get in a Group 1 in other neighbourhood sch. Is this understanding correct?
Child shortlisted for an interview under leadership category, was thinking if need to spend the effort going for the session if ultimately child still can get in the sch even if allocated to Group 2, since if DSA also group 2 (if my understanding of above is correct). Reason for picking this sch initially is because of distance.
Thanks in advance for any comment or advice to clear my doubts. -
To be successfully admitted to a school through DSA, your child’s Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) results must qualify them for the Posting Group offered by the school.
Example 1: If the school only admits students through Posting Group 3, your child’s PSLE score must qualify for Posting Group 3. This includes those in Posting Group 3 and Posting Group 2 option band.
Example 2: If the school admits students through Posting Groups 1, 2, or 3, your child’s PSLE score must at least qualify for Posting Group 1. If your child is eligible for Posting Group 1, they will be admitted to the Posting Group 1 of the school. -

To go or not to go for the interview, would depend on your child’s predicted PSLE score.

If his predicted score is far worse than the school’s G3 COP of 14, then it is a good deal if can DSA in.
If his predicted score is far worse than the school’s G2 COP of 23, then it is a good deal if can DSA in.
If his predicted score is far worse than the school’s G1 COP of 27, then it is a good deal if can DSA in.
If child is at the borderline of G2/G3, may be quite worth it. Really depends on where your child’s grades are. If clearly IP material then likely yes, you are wasting time with a FSBB school. -
Anyone got notice from VS on sports?
