We applied another sport domain , so far no verbal CO /WL/rejection . Was told official announcement will be through email by 31 aug

It's ok. It means your kid just have to ace the PSLEs and then they can go anywhere they want. :nunchuk:

Challenge is when your first choice school offers you a WL and your second choice school offers you a CO. If you tell the second choice school (verbal offer) that you would still rank the first choice WL above their CO, would they still offer the CO to you rather than giving it to the next in line?

Totally agree, as mention...DSA is a system to allow the kid to have multiple CO or WL and select the ranking of schools. It is that simple.

Why complicate it ? The school try to go ard the system asking verbal to he 100% sure..but the system is not design in this way.

Take note, we are not depriving another kid. I don't think is fair if one can't decide now and agree 1st. Coz in the 1st place, the school should nt be asking. The system works both ways for all schools.

I don't think it will cause anything later on with coaches or what..if u are good with good characters, does it matters?

If u were given a verbal offer then it would be best to let the sch know that u are not accepting, before they send out the official one. So that they can still offer to the next in line for their sport. If u only inform them after the official offer is out. They can't do much about it already. The slot will go to their general sch pool when u reject officially in the system and may go to other domains and deprive their sport of a slot.

That's also why I think some were advising earlier, not to tell the verbal offer sch that u will confirm accept if u eventually won't be accepting because the 'industry' is small.. N ur kid may come across the sch, coaches or teachers at some point

So perhaps some consideration for u on when to release the slot vs how much time to give ur kid to consider also.. I wld assume all of us n our kids already have our own ranking of the schs we applied to

As mention, DSA is a simple system. Just follow the system MOE set out. There is a reason for all the timeline, choices etc.

Let's don't complicated it with emotion attached. It is a system.

U apply, the school think that ur child us suitable, they offer, then ur turn to decide to accept or not.

It is just that simple.

So when the school start asking...\"u cfm will accept\" ? It already destroyed the simple system.

There are many scenarios..so the ans cannot be so east. Tts why system are in place.

If u already get an CO or ur desired school. Yes..u can reject to allow them offer to others. But if u have not decided..which most are not..why reject the verbal and afraid that the industry is small? This idea of ndustry is small is rubbish...infact if they eventually get better to national level..all are helping each others. So what if they know u reject them last time after u verbal agree? Are they going to boycott u for life when u are the best in ur domain? Anyone care to share what is the consequses since Industry is small??

We can't have the best of everything..the school starts to \"abuse\" system .

Anyway..my DS last yr told one of the school that their school is not 1st choice..but they still offer.....
School also betting on other school not offering and they can get u in.

I read through thread, NOT all domain verbally offer CO, it depends on teacher in-charge as well.
Lets see what will happen within next few days. guessing is pointless.

I received some enquiries regarding the HCI DSA Infocomm interview which I would like to address here, as I had benefited much from information shared by parents in the DSA 2022 thread.

The interview this year was conducted in groups of 4 students, and consisted of 2 parts - performance tasks and questions.

Performance tasks were related to robotics, coding, machines. Not unexpected. Will not be sharing specific questions as they are unlikely to be the same every year.

Questions asked were related to self, personal experiences, and goals. Again, no point sharing exact questions as there are so many possible permutations.
