      Hi Parents.
Can anyone share their experience as to the kind of commitment (or workload) is expected of kids going in through DSA STEM? What extra commitments are expected of them?
      Thanks
Hi, have your child gone for the selection test recently at NJC?
My child is shortlisted for an interview. But now we are not sure whether to accept IF she gets a CO…
This forum has been rather quiet since 2020. Am trying to find out more about NJC culture and how the school is like.

        Hi Parents,

Anyone has experienced NJC DSA AEP interview after being shortlisted after Aptitude Test?

Please do share your child’s experience regarding NJC DSA AEP interview. The email indicates to bring any "relevant certificates or documents" but no need to bring school records.

What kind of certificates or documents usually one brings? She does not have any certificates actually related to art but only certificates on Eng, Math, and Sci.
I was wondering if it helps to bring her daily sketches or printout of her other digital design but I wonder if this is not necessary anymore as e-portfolio was already submitted during initial stage.

And what are the usual questions during interview?

If there’s another link related to this topic, please share also.

I would really appreciate any inputs. Thanks for the time.

Can anyone shed some light around stem DSA in Njc , how many students they take in typically ? 5 to 10 or 1 to 3 range ? Is stem a cca that the DSA students need to sign up to ?

            Hi Eva,
Did your girl went for the interview last friday 25 Aug ? Seem like not much response from this forum on DSA or the culture of NJC. Seem like quite big group was selected for the interview and i was wondering how many will be selected 😄

Yes she did. Your child too? I wonder how many went for interview that day. Results should be out by next Friday.

Yup, I wonder why it’s so quiet here. NJC isn’t popular anymore? 🤔

yes, mine went too. I guess roughly 15min per child start from 2pm and end around 6pm - should be around 16. There is one parent in the DSA 2023 main chat mentioned that her child turn down on the interview as he has a confirmed offer already. hence should be 15 kids, based on previous chat reply - only less than 5 will be selected, I read the information for the previous year, NJC sound like a wonderful school with interesting curriculum.

I see. But the school seems a bit old and there are very few CCA for junior high.

Stem isn’t a CCA at NJC. Do you know what’s the commitment like for a student who got in through DSA Stem?

I don’t know what is the commitment but I think is just that this year parents are not as enthusiastic to post as previous year 🤣. Even in the main chat DSA is also quite quiet.

I read that the current principal of NJC got transferred from MOE in Dec 2022. Not sure how NJC culture is changing under her leadership.

I see. My kid was interview by the vice principal I think so did not meet the principal. My kid enjoy the chat with the panel though, it a great experience for a child. When I was there for the trial , the school was very quiet . We are a little surprise. the students seem well behave type.
