Hi everyone


I’m new to KS parents. Was recommended by my colleague yesterday and I love this site v much. Thanks much to the creators of KS parents. Kudos!

We stay at Serangoon Ave 4. I’m thinking of applying for the PV for Rosyth. Based on the last 2 yrs trend, it seems that phase 2B need not ballot. Does tt mean that all the PVs all managed to get a space for their kid?

Also, how do I find out what happens to my kid if I apply for Rosyth and don’t get a space in the end? Saw that Phase 2C wld need to ballot for <1km>1km but <2km. So, def no chance for Phase 2C.

krissie, welcome to KSP.com. When will you be registering your kid for P1? If it is this year, it is too late for PV. If it is for next year, you need to apply for PV with the school before end of June this year. You have to call up the school to find out asap about the processes and the deadlines to apply.

There are rumors that Rosyth has tightened its PV intake just so that all PVs will be able to get in. Not sure if that is true, but based on the last 4 years, there is definitely a steady decline in applications during Phase 2B for Rosyth.

My son's born in 2006, so it's for the 2013 intake. I saw from the Roysth website tt the applications for the PV wld close in Apr 2010. So, thought better check it out.

Also, wanted to find out what happens to my kid if I fail to get a space in Phase 2B and 2C? Will MOE just assign me any random sch in Serangoon? Thanks!

Dear Madam,

There is still Phase 2C Supplementary, don't worry. Only you fail in Phase 2C supplementary then MOE would assign a Primary School for you.

any idea if rosyth is shifting their premises in the next 1-2 yrs? Coz their current place can’t expand anymore. Heard they r still running wif 2 sessions now. So I reckom their intake will shrink fr this yr?

Just learnt from the PV thread that some schs allow both parents to combine hrs while others restrict it to only 1 parent clocking the PV hrs.

Anybody know what’s the case for Rosyth?

BTW, to answer the earlier post, don’t think they’re shifting premises anytime soon.
They seem to be just cutting intake by 1 class (30 kids) a year.

I spoke to the school and was told that Rosyth will be one of the last schools in Singapore to convert to a single session. The deadline MOE stipulated for all schools to convert to a single session is 2017. Rosyth will shift to a holding site, expand the current school and shift back again.

Nope, they said they don't have the details yet.
