Me Time!

Thanks! Ya it’s not serious at all, just needs time to heal. Have not fallen off my bike since I was in lower primary, so just in temporary shock that’s all. Makes me more aware to drive more carefully around cyclists and motorcyclists now. They are quite vulnerable: 人包铁 not 铁包人

@doodbug I took Rail Corridor part way and then continued to Rail Mall. Strangely enough, I fell at the absolutely safest and broadest part of the path (erm, because i saw a kid approaching my bike and I braked too hard to avoid him
) Still using my thin-wheeled foldie but DH bought a second-hand trail bike with sturdier wheels. Both have pros and cons. Brompton looks cool but the price is

@zac-s-mum I find the Rail Corridor kind of crowded to cycle at. But it’s nice in that it is a continuous stretch without traffic lights etc. It’s really nice to live near a Rail Corridor access point.
I used to start at Alexandra or thereabouts, near the Trek shop (park there and use a foldie). The Southern stretch to Tanjong Pagar Rail station has fewer people, but I find the noise from the AYE unpeaceful. The stretch from Buona Vista to Bukit Timah is better noise-wise, but it is more crowded. I have not ventured north of the Bukit Timah tracks as I recall having to dismount on a foldie at the gravel portions and so I lost patience lol
Maybe its a lot better now - I last did this route maybe 2 to 3 years ago. -
Good that you are healing well.
When MP say hope to see more kakis falling in I do not think she meant literally falling.

I was on my usual walk at the corridor last weekend when I saw someone on the bicycle falling when she attempted to cycle across the rail bridge.

Looks like the spam bots have taken over our ksp

@zac-s-mum I was just going to say exactly that! Is there any effective way to keep them away? Especially when the traffic is so low now, they really overwhelm the legitimate posts!

@Funz My goodness! Cobra in Singapore?? Last time there was a python trying its luck to get in my home which was on the ground floor. Try putting sulphur around the entrances. Might be difficult if yours is on the ground floor like mine, and not knowing when to stop the sulphur.

@slmkhoo Yes. I’m back after a long monthly break. Just deleted the hundreds of spam posts from Indonesia. I’d be monitoring the Forum much more closely from now onwards.

@ChiefKiasu Thanks! Any more upgrades of this site being planned? I can’t put my finger on specifics, but this site still seems harder to navigate and just isn’t as welcoming as the old one.
And is there any way to invite some of the old members to come back?
