Hi, I checked the whole thread but didn't find any response to this post. Thought I would bump it up. Thanks.Hi,
Does anyone know about St Nicholas Girls Primary from experience?
Am trying to know more about the school in terms of whether the workload is heavy.. it is stressful and pressurising (relatively), are the teachers more patient , are there lots of homework/ project. Do they empahsize alot on Chinese? How are children who are slower in Chinese taught? My girl tend to do better with love and tender than pressure. -

Anderson
- popular coed school
- srong in sports & atheletic programs
Townsville
-Heard lots of relieve teachers
-Some teachers did not make use of time to teach but will instruct the student to play on their own
- construction site next door for at least a year
- new principal from woodsgrove with impressive record
- staff even security officer helpful (cmp: amk & mayflower)
- wide range of CCA\"
Teck Ghee
- lots of homework
- standard better than townsville
- No mid year exam but every 2 weeks got test
- used to be strong academically but slacken over last 5 years to slightly over national ave
- teacher more responsive n systematic in teaching than amk\"
Jing Shan
- Heard will lump all lower standard students together so students no motivation
- day care on premises
- focus on physical & aesthetics(?) growth\"
Ang Mo Kio

My son is studying in the school. The discipline in the school is very good. There have been quite a few good changesover the last year or so since the new VP who was formerly from Anderson came onboard. My son loves to spend his time on the schools learning website:How about TecK Ghee ? anyone has any comments about this school ?
thanks

Hi Dawn .. my child is in Teck ghee .. agree with you that the teachers are responsive. Don't think the results have slackened going by the banner that is found on the school website.[Moderator's note: Topics merged.]

Chief, Am planning to send my child to St. Nicholas School next year
Next year?? You mean your girl going to P1 next year? For St Nic at AMK, every year they ballot phase 2B and 2C within 1 km....if you are not a parent volunteer by now...then you will have to go thru' phase 2C balloting, which is very very competitive.
Good luck!
anyone has any idea where the gals will be studying when they do the reno in 2010-2011... n how wd it affect the p1 intake during these times??
*panic* -
