A train travels from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur, passing Malacca. The train travels 85 km in each hour. From Singapore to Malacca it takes 2 hours and from Malacca to Kuala Lumpur it takes 3 hours. What is the distance between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur?

The distance between Town A and Town B is 12 km 400 m and between Town A and Town C is 26 km. Tom travelled from Town A to Town B and then returned to Town A before going to Town C. What was the total distance Tom travelled?

From Town A to Town B = 12km 400m

then returned to Town A
From Town B to Town A = 12km 400m

before going to Town C
From Town A to Town C = 26km

TOTAL DISTANCE TRAVELLED:
12km400m + 12km400m + 26km = 50km 800m

1/4 of 2 units = 1/2 unit
Redraw the model:

Now, 1/4 of the remainder is used to buy a book.
Which means the Ali has a total of 6 units in savings and has 3 units left.

3 units = $38
6 units = $38 x 2 = $76
