I believe i am successful in Phase 2B but have yet to receive any notification from MOE yet...

Is this usual?

I just received mine today from MS today. Its not from MOE. Its from the school. Its the same piece of registration form that we filled up the other time during registration. We took home the white piece then, i think. They just sent me the carbon copy blue piece with a tick below stating that i am succesful with the date and time of orientation on it.

Rumors abound when things get stressful. For the record, the P1 Registration processes are well regulated and audited, giving little chance for anything as described above to happen.


We urge parents to exercise caution in posting such allegations, especially if they have just heard it from someone else, and did not directly experience the events. It can be quite unfair to our schools and Principals who have to bear the brunt of these unsubstantiated allegations.

Hi im a father who travels frequently and is quite blur about the pri 1 registration process. I live within 1km of tao nan and have been quite set in trying to send my son to the school since he was born.. however in recent weeks, i have been informed that catholic high has become very popular. im an old boy of cat high. Can kaisu parents pls advise me on which school shld i send him to? pls help im very confused and lost

I think you should just register at Cath High under phase 2a first. I can understand the distance travelling is a hinderance but at least you have secured a place in one of the top popular school.

Usually Tao Nan requires balloting under Phase 2c (< 1km) unless you can register him under Phase 2b which is for community volunteers, parent volunteers etc. Note however that for this year, Tao Nan also has balloting for those living < 1km under Phase 2b.

if i were you, i will move and send my boy to cat high. it is a top school and has affliation! It is definitely a better choice than tao nan. FYI, this year tao nan phase 2B required balloting within 1km.

Catholics is a better choice for it's affiliation to the secondary school and the fact that you are at Phase 2A as compared Tao Nan where you still probably need to ballot at < 1km.

I would also ask how many children you have? If all are boys then Catholic will be a clear winner....but if you have a girl....then you would have to think about which school you wanna send your gal to...

Call the school and ask. Not all schools have open house.
