Hi, anybody knows about nafa kindergarden @ east cost or comments ? Thinking of sending my 3 year old girl there but school fee quit expensive, does it worth the money? :? :? -
hi Jessie
Some comments from me :
1) The normal academic program is quite similar to any other kindergarden. On top of the 3 hourly program, they have an extra hour each day on the arts side, 2 days on music, 2 days on art and 1 day on dance.
2) My daughter attended the kindergarden for half a year in 2007. She always comes back with nice art pieces which is quite different from the normal kindergarden which I am glad but so does not like music at all.
I have later on transferred her to a montessori environment which I find more suitable for her.
I think your choice will depend on what you want for your child. This kind of program is good if you want to expose your kids to art/music/dance at a young age and you see where the interest of your kid lies. You also do not need to send them for extra lessons during weekends because all in done at school.
Overall, choose a school that best fits your child. Heard the waiting list is long for AM class. -
Hi, Lucky
Thanks for your comments.
Just wondering what the reason that initiate your intention to withdraw your kid after just half a year ? -
It’s my personal observation. I felt that she flourished better in a montessori environment.
She was in a montessori enviroment previously. Because of moving of house, we put her in Nafa kindergarden for a try.
I felt that her progress is so so and the fact that she dislike music lessons made me pulled out. -
Couldn't find much detailed info about NAFA Arts Kindergarten (NAK) when I was finding out about it. So, just wish to share my personal NAK experiences so that parents can make a more informed decision.

I enquired about this kindergarten last year… and was told that the waitlist is very long.

My understanding was (and is still) so too.
Just to let you have a rough idea of our process.
- 3Q07, went for \"site visit\" and was advised to be on waitlist (queue no. 70+ already, if I remember correctly).
- 4Q08, was offered afternoon session for N2 term 1 (start Jan 2009), but rejected them as morning preferred.
- 1Q09, offered morning session for N2 term 2 (start Mar 2009). Took it, since kid not attending class at any where else and the whole family had a \"love at first sight\" kindda feeling. -
Can I know how early do I hv to register my boy in the school? My boy is coming to 17 month soon. Also how much do I hv to pay to be on the waiting list? Thanks!
