HyperKiasu:
Agree. Plus some parents don't believe in labelling, so may forgo the GEP tests altogether.
icverykiasu2010:
many of this year's SMOPS platinum holders also not GEPer....Lim Jeck is a class of his own
perhaps some GEPers are \"gifted\" in English, and might not be so smart in maths...

You dont need to care so much about p1, p2, year 1, year 2...The book clearly states the age. Dont tell me you dunno your child's age.Hi
SAP Publications have published the Olympiad Maths Trainer Books; 1,2 and 3 now and 4, 5 and 6 later.
Book 1 says ages 7-8, does that make it a P1 or P2 book? Can anyone clarify.
I ask this as DS1, here in UK, is in Year 2, which is same as your P1. In UK, Year 2 is ages 6 to 7. School finishes in two weeks, when DS1 will also be 7.
In September he starts Year 3 (ages 7 to 8 ), the equivalent of your P2, I think.
Quick answer would be much appreciated.

Hi KingRascal,(Hi Kohjl, wonder if we \"see\" each other there at times?
)
My DS is also at Math Arena. Have joined them since they started out in Bedok. I was very new to Math Olympiad thus did not know much about centres that provide such training. Math Arena's reputation (from Math Hub) attracted me and we tried it out without any referral. I was assured of their consistency in trainers and programme as it is part of Math Hub and not a franchise.
Never regret a single bit. DS enjoys himself so much that he pestered for more lessons during the holidays! He has also learnt alot, beyond what I thought he could comprehend.
I am keen to put my DS at Math Arena at Bedok. Will you be able to tell me the address? (I have done a search on Math hub but to no avail)
Thank you. -
Hi Cheerfuldad (seeing your username I was so intensely urged to insert a smiley face)
Math Arena has shifted to Tampines blk 488b. It's a bomb shelter. Cosy and practical Not those aloof ones where parents are not allowed to enter! Thought you should find it under Math Hub. It is definitely a branch of Math Hub & not a franchise (though it bears a different name).Cheerfuldad:
