      Hi,

My girl will be joining DHS next year. May I have some advise about the kind of (school) workload expected for a Sec 1 student?

      Thanks.
      VAL.

Could you advise the start and end timings of the school days for Sec one next year?

I'm staying in Sengkang and hoping I would be able to head for DHS after my PSLE.

          Cheers and TYVM.

          hi livewith vanilla,
for sec1 next yr, i wouldn't know the timetable šŸ˜‰

but for this yr and for my gal's class, a summary of timing as follows:
MON, starts at 8 a.m, ends at ard 3 to 4
TUE, starts at 8 a.m, ends at ard 3 to 4
WED, starts at 8 a.m, ends at 1.45 p.m followed by CCA which ends at 6.30p.m
THURS starts at 9 a.m, ends at 1.45 p.m, afternoon is reserved for 3 rd lang pupils
FRI, starts at 8 a.m, ends at 1.45 p.m, followed by CCA again

though the timetable is planned for 10 days,
but more or less the same for the 1 st or 2 nd wk of the mth

So classes generally starts at 8 for this year?
Should be the same for next year, I hope.
I wouldn't have to wake up earlier than I do now.
          Thanks!

nothing2do, maybe, u would also like to input yr gal's timetable,

so that other parents can have a look.....i also wanna to know if there's any diff.....

ok, do it right now. hahaha.

                mon 8am - 2pm follow by 3-5.30 for cca
                tue 8am - 3+
                wed 8am - 1.45 follow by cca until 4pm
                thurs 9am - 1+ follow by 3rd lang till 6.30 or 6.45 at bishan
fri 8-3 follow by cca till 6-6.15pm.

                tks, nothing2do,
so yr gal CCA is on 3 days, Mon, Wed and Fri
the timetable is almost the same as my gal, but seems that monday is a short day for yr gal,
whereas for my gal, Mon ends at 3.45 (except for this term, it ends earlier since the RS has ended) šŸ˜„

                  shd be the same,
the flag-raising time is schedule at 8 a.m when DHS moved to its holding schools few yrs ago (former Raffles JC campus) in Buona Vista
since then it remains at 8 a.m and 9 a.m

                    hi Val,
                    Congrats to u šŸ˜„

as for the workload, it really depends which class is yr gal in.....
as it varies, sounds a bit weird right??

my gal has frens from other classes and they do make a comparison of the sch workload,
she found that for those graded assignments and projects, they are the same
but non-graded stuff, the worklaod really varies

as for her, her term 1 and term 2 worklaod was really heavy,
after the June holidays, it decreases quite drastically
yes, compare to P6, is more relaxing now, apart from many pop quiz and small tests

as after 3 days of schoolday of the week, usually more tired towards thurs and fri
so the later 9 a.m flag-raising time comes in just nice
                      tomorrow is Thursay  šŸ˜‰

                        hi augmum,
Actually Thursday to my gal is not really that bad, bec wed she can stay up late to finish up her 3rd lang hw. Just that is more convenient for me if it is on Monday.
