Hi All,
Any one who can update me about Temasek Primary School. How is it with respect to holistic education?
Hoping to hear soon from you side.

Hi, I am mom of a 2005 boy. I have shortlised a few schools and found temasek pri best meet my criteria (I am focusing more on non academic areas like developing the child based on his strength, a nurturing environment ie motivating and patient teachers over academic excellence). This is based on my findings from reading their websites and the awards they have received.
Now, I wonder how life is really like for a child currently is or was from the school. I have no wish for my son to be constantly doing his homework and going for enrichments/remedials even during the holidays.
Is there such an ideal local school in Singapore
By the way, I am planning to move so location is not really so much of an issue.
Thank you for all your advices. -
Which schools have more students that are English speaking in Bedok?

I was from temasek primary as do the rest of my siblings. Not sure if my feedback is still of relevance as I have graduated from the school long time ago. It is a very good school in my opinion. I recalled of reading sessions during assembly time and the the japanese students exchange programmes. I recalled the science festival where we had to come up with something we have to make ourselves that fulfills the theme of the project or something like that.
During my time, there were still the \"8 extended\", so i do recall of remedial lessons for these classes after school dismiss but there were no classes in the holidays.
Actually, thinking back now, I think I played more than study as there were really no academic performance pressures imposed by school. The principal then was a very nice man too.
If not for the distance, I would have wanted my children to go there.
Hope this helps.
Thanks & Best Regards,

That's a pretty healthy vote of confidence, chie. Chalk one up for Temasek Primary School! -
My son is from Temasek, P1 this year. He has homework to do daily and hardly have time to play. He is also expected to do a 50 words compo for his SA1. His form teacher has high expectations. She is always telling me that she is worried for my boy that he can’t make it for his papers but I am quite happy with his results, except for mother tongue. I feel that she is pushing me to ‘push up’ my boy’s grade.
However, my neighbour’s boy, also P1 from Temasek but different class, is quite free. He hardly has homework to do.
In the end, school matters but teachers also make a difference. REally depends on luck. -
I’m also interested in Red Swastika, can some experienced ppl advise whether the school is good, is considering buying house near some good schools.
It is really appreciated to give some advise whether this school is worth the effort of moving house, thanks! -
