Regarding using other not important periods (ie PE, HE, SS) to conduct eng, maths lessons, I am okay with it.

My girl's school bag weighs 5.9kg on one of the heaviest days of the week :faint:

I used an electronic weighing machine to weigh

Using the 10% guideline, the child must weigh at least 59kg to be able to carry this bag. My son weighs 25kg, so his sch bag should not be more than 2.5kg 😐

Yah hor.. What if a child is underweight? Can carry less stuff in the bag?
Hehee.. Didn't think of it that way, until you mentioned.

caroline3sg, you are right. I am very irritated when the teachers tell
the students they must have these files in their bags every day. Sigh.
They can bring home the sheets and we can help to file. Bring everyday
oso sometimes no worksheets to file. 😛

Switch to trolley bag even worst. Trolley bag is much heaver than normal bag esp if kids need to claim stairs in school, noisy when drag and little kids may trip and fall too. I tried before for my eldest girl when she is in P1.

My P5 eldest girl weighs 37kg and her bag is around 6 to 6.5 kg! I ask her why cannot reduce, she say she need for lessons and already reduce. Dont know why school cannot assign lockers to them as I say lockers in front of the classroom. I think must sms her teacher to ask liao

I always tell her that she is like carrying gold bar to school. When I carry for her, I always felt very heavy. She told me all the friends also carry heavy bag. OMG! :!: Nowadays even weight of bags also stress out parents.

Trolley bags are only good for children

having first floor classes for all subjects.
Last year, my daughter's classes all on
1st floor except for Mother Tongue. MT
class was on 3rd floor. 😛

yes, I carried my son's bag in the morning to take bus to nanny's house. I sweat all over. Now trolley bag, he pulls himself. He likes it. It is Ben 10. His pestered to buy coz his friend also have, giving the reason shoulders pain. 😉

all P1 class on ground floor. he goes next class for chinese. I remember he said one day a week (ie Wed?) assemble at sch hall, which is 2nd floor. He would carry the bag in front of him with both hands. The back strap is always in the pocket of the bag.
