      ChiefKiasu:
Comparing these 2 CHIJs is almost like trying to compare a pair of identical twins. They are very similar in academic performance. Both schools excel in English, Malay and Tamil languages, but have sub-par performance in Chinese. They both perform very well in math and science too.

I would give a slight edge to CHIJ Katong for its strong focus in character development and sports.
THANKS! CHIJ Katong PSLE results are on their web but not CHIJ TP so I dont know where to find out the PSLE results from. Any ideas?

As P1 is drawing near, wondering which one to decide CHIJ Katong or CHIJ Toa Payoh.

I heard that CHIJ Katong has better PSLE results & I'm an old girl so can get into Phase 2A2. For CHIJ Toa Payoh, advantage is affilitation to the secondary school. My mom lives within 1 km so can also get in. We now live about equal distance to both schools.

        Anyone offer a vote?
        mamapea,
although your mum lives within 1km, your registration will be categorised under 1-2km (for registration using caregiver's address), of which there are balloting based on last year's records.
do you want to take this risk?

          Hi,

I am intending to enrol my daughter in CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel in Ang Mo Kio. Anybody have any idea how is the school? It seems from the school’s web site that the PSLE results are above the national average for the last few years. How about other factors like the caring principal, loving teachers, the conduct of the students in general, etc?

          Thank you.

Hi, I’m living in Australia for the last 2 years but is brining my girl back for Pri 1 next year. We’ll be staying on Holland Drive, and is eiligble to register under Phase 2B for any CHIJ as we are Catholic. All the CHIJ are more than 2km. I’ve shorted to CHIj Kellock, CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace (OLQP) or CHIJ Toa Payoh. The Toa Payoh looks like need balloting ? anyone has any idea how’s the 3 CHIJ? any advise?

Hi, anyone have an idea what's CHIJ Kellock like? we are eligible under Stage 2B. one friend said the teachers don't \"drill\" the students enough? and the homework is given is too easy such that cannot cope with PSLE? does anyone sent their girls there have something to say? Any idea what's the school values? thank you. 😛

These 2 schools are too close to call. I would give CHIJ Kellock a very slight advantage based on their historical academic performance.

Not sure if you want a school that \"drills\" students that much, but CHIJ schools are all generally very good for character building and academic performance. Those teachers I talked to in Kellock are nice, friendly and know what they are doing. Go for it.

Thank you ChiefKiasu. No, that’s not what I want. I’m looking for a well rounded education. But she make it sound so relax that I started questioning about my decision. And given that I’m overseas, I relied what people tell me, I guess…

                    hi

I am old girl of CHIJ kellock back in the 1980s. Generally all CHIJ school forcus more on moral education and character building.

We do have our fair share of homework and extra lessons during the holidays.

During my time, I think our PSLE passes was 100%.

I think the standard for CHIJ is more or less the same.

I think what school you choice depend on where you are/will be staying. This will save travelling time and of course when your girl is in the upper primany there will be enrichment and CCAs, you will need to make sure there are public buses from the school to your house. I dun think you want your girl to travel round singapore to reach home.

I went for the open house. It is not formally organise and gave me the impression that they are not proud of their school and teachers are new with no sense and belongings and committed. Feedback from some parents are not positive, kinda not much effort input to improve weaker students performance and form teacher cannot cope. Defintiely not my choice of school for my girl.
