All about Transferring to Other Primary Schools

Not sure if they still practise this. But a few years back, my colleague's children were enrolled in this school. During P1 orientation, the kids were asked to sit for some written tests. After that, they were streamed into the different classes. So from P1 onwards, there is already a best class. So they probably go by \"teach according to ability\" system.
wiimum:
I heard the school \"produces\" about 10-15 GEP students each year
That's quite a high rate, in my opinion. -
To successsfully be transferred into Nan Hua Pri, the student’s Chinese lang. needs to be good enough to potentially achieve a distinction in Higher Chinese at PSLE.

Will be shifting to Bukit Panjang area at the end of this year and am now looking for a new school for my girl next year. She's currently in P1. Am hoping to transfer her to CHIJ OLQP . I was told that there is a long waiting list and the chances of getting a transfer is rather slim as no one is transferring out. Called a Bukit Panjang & Beacon but also get the same reply.
Anyone has any idea wrt the criteria which these schools adopt to choose students who are eligible for transfers? Am worried that my girl will not be able to be transferred to any nearby schools after we have shifted becoz there's no vacancy.
Anyone with similar experience to share? What are the chances of securing a place when you are put on the waiting list?

Hello,
Does anyone have any experience transferring their kids to Catholic High or Rosyth Primary to share?
Do the kids have to sit through a test? When must they apply to get a transfer for beginning of next year?
Does anyone know what the school culture is like as well? Emphasis on academic or character building or CCA etc?
Thanks in advance!
