Oic, think there are only PCF within walking distant then. Or you can consider touch childcare cum kindergarden at Blk 333. opposite interchange.

For me, i stay next to MRT near Botak Jones. I will sent my son to school every morning then, the school bus will send him back to my mother in law place at sunset way.

But i think 3 yrs old may be too young to take the school bus so for first few months, my mother in law may fetch him from school till he settle down.

For Prenursery, I think Apple Tree is pretty OK. Clementi is a mature estate so there is not much choice and no decent school nearby clementi central than than PCF, so unfortunately PCF is the only option if U do not want to take bus. Please let me know if U can find one nearby clementi central too, cause I am still looking. My girl is in PCF now

Hi Forumers, my family and i will be moving to West Coast area early next year and we are in the process of looking for kindergartens around the area. Would appreciate if anyone out there could comment on the following kindies. Your comments and feedback would go a long way in helping us to find the most suitable kindy for my 3 kids.

                  1) Calvary Pandan Kindergarten
                  2) Galilee Kindergarten
                  3) Clementi Woods Kindergarten
                  4) Pasir Panjang Hill Church Kindergarten

Thanks in advance for all you feedback and comments.

                  Cheers!

I will be moving to Pasir Panjang Rd by end of year. My kids will start at Pasir Panjang Hill next Jan 2010. I like the small class ratio there. Environment conducive and clean. Kids look happy.

Have you visited the schools you listed? What is your opinion?

                        Hi,
I visited 3 of them : Calvary, Clementi Woods and PPHC kindy.

After the visit, here are my opinions of the schools (strictly my personal opinion, views may differ btw individuals):

                        Calvary
Student intake is big, environment is rather conducive. Classrooms are non-aircon so ventilation is good. Principal gave me a feeling that she is rather stern and strict. She is also rather hands-on, was playing the piano for the afternoon class assembly. Asked for brochure and info on the cirriculum but she was not willing to provide, citing past experiences that other schools copied thier cirriculum as they were freely distributed. Teachers seemed caring and loving. When asked about enrichment classes, she is for the idea that such classes are not needed as her school already incorporated them into their ciriculum. When I was there in Sept, there were still vacancies for the 2010 intake for K1 and Pre-Nurs.

                        PPHC Kindy
As anslevelz had mentioned, the intake is small compared to the others and this can be viewed as an advantage as more attention can be given to the students and the children may fall sick less often. Administrator that showed me around was very patient and friendly. Place is clean but quite small. They offer a wide variety of enrichment classes, all at additional cost. Most of the enrichment classes are run by external parties. When asked about the meal menu, was told that it will vary from day to day but will be the same weekly menu throughout the year (this i feel needs to improve). One thing to note is that for Pre-nursery, your child has to be toilet trained before attending the school. During my visit in Sept, there were no more vacancies in the morning session for K1 (only 1 class in each session). For preN, there were vacancies available for both sessions. Was wait-listed for the AM session.

                        Clementi Woods Kindergarten
Intake is rather big. The environment is conducive and clean. Huge space for the students to carry out their daily activities. Have a very good feeling when I stepped into the school. Students looked happy and teachers seemed caring. They do offer some enrichment classes, all at additional cost as well. Did not speak with the principal, only spoke to the administrators. The school's enrollement for 2010 was full when I visited them. Was waitlisted for K1 and Pre-N.

                        Galilee
Did not visit partly becos no time. Also, the person that attended to me over the phone wasn't exactly very professional and was quite 'bo-chap'. So not very keen to visit.

School fees wise, all the 3 schools i visited charge about the same amount per term, $530-$540 for K1 excl enrichment classes.

After visiting the schools and praying šŸ™ about it, Clementi woods was my 1st choice. Liked the environment and also it is nearer to my new place. Unfortunately, they were full then. However, by God's grace, was informed recently that there were vacancies available... :celebrate: Have since registered my kids for K1 for next year's intake. PreN is still full so still on wait list for my girl. Again, just to metioned that these are strictly my personal opinions. For parents who are looking around for preschools in this region for your kids, i urge you to visit the school personally to get a better feel of the place, the teachers and the environment.

Hope the above info helps.
