Hi all, my boy will enter P1 in 2011 and i am trying to decide which school is suitable for him. Can any parents with children studying in Poi Ching share with me about the school?

My boy's mandarin is rather weak and I am worried that Poi Ching's level of standard for Mandarin is too high for him. No doubt it is a good school but i just wanted to find out more from parents' feedback. Thank a mil!

If you and your family's background is week in chinese , better don't opt for poi ching as Poiching chinese standard is quite high.

School works hand-in-hand with parents on the chinese.i.e.
not only children have home work, parents also have home work which are to help the child do recite, revision and ting xie. Parents must sign the worksheet everyday to make sure the child's work is done.

          Hope it helps

I’m in between Simei and Bedok. Below is what I can shortlist as read from this forum better schoolls but all outside 1km and inside 2km,

What should be my priority for applying PV?

              1. Chongzheng Primary School
              2. East Spring Primary School
              3. Po Ching
              4. Gongshang
              5. Yu Neng

I don’t opt for Red Swastika and St Hilda 'cos St Hilda is too competitive while my husband is a Christian

Your child is born in which year? If your child is born in 2004, i know Po Ching and Gongshang already closed their PV application. You can try CHongzheng and East Spring. Not sure about Yuneng though.

My son borns in 2005 and if all 5 schools accept my application (if fortunately), how I should take the priority? As currently I’m working, have to take leave to do PV.

I will be registering my son for P1 2010 under Phase 2C. We intend to send him to East Spring Primary School, the school is getting more and more popular now, was afraid need to do balloting even though staying stone-throw away from the school.

Am thinking of backup plan now… poi ching and st hilda are outside 2km… Anyone can provide info for these schools?

                    1. Yumin

                    2. ChongZheng

                    3. Tampines Pri

                    4. Pasir Ris Pri

                    Pls advice. Appreciate

I’m also on the same ‘boat’ … as we are using grandparent address … we can only be grouped under 1-2 km range and doubt we stand a chance for Gongshang, Chongzheng and East Spring. These schools will only have 30-40 seats under Ph 2C.

Any parents here with children in Tampines North, Yumin ?
Any opinions for these schools ?

I heard from my friend that Tampines north is good. Chonzheng is also like East spring left with few seats for phase 2C.
