Using Relative's Address & Statutory Declaration
-
mummyfel:
Just give MOE a call (if you can get the no. on the website) or even better, drop them a note (or you can call and then drop a note of confirmation if the answer is yes). you still have ample time to get their replies (don't think they'll need 6 mths to reply, right?Hi Jedamum,
Yes, Grandma get 2day paid with CPF contribution from Grandpa Restaurant.... thus, am afraid that MOE will reject the case even though Mon-Fri my child is genuinely under the care of his Grandma...

). just as those who fork out large sums of $$ to buy a property or exploit the loophole of using Grandparent's address as their own address, you should 'fight' for it aggressively (eg appeal etc) if your kid is genuinely under the grandma's care.
good luck.

Hi
I’m new here & I’m confused about the statutory declaration.
Is the declaration for this year’s registration (ie status now) or for next year’s arrangement (status when kid is P1) ?
If the grandparents are not working, does it matter whether if the kid is under full/half day/no child care with a child care centre at all ?
Pls help to clear my doubts. Thanks. -

My parents' place is about 1.2km from Temasek Pri and we can move in to stay with them. When you mentioned that \"MOE will use the actual distance\", does it mean that in the event we need to ballot, I will belong to the 1-2km category?deardear07:
erm, if greatgrandparent's home is the location to go after the school hours, hw would it be counted? 2.1km?no chance? esp for schools like AiTong or St Nicholas/ Rosyth?
If grandparents' home is less than 1km from school, it will be counted as 1-2km instead. Other than that, MOE will use the actual distance. -
mamamiya:
yes.
does it mean that in the event we need to ballot, I will belong to the 1-2km category?
even if the grandparents place is 0.5km from Temasek Pri, MOE will still treat it as an application in the 1-2km category.
If is >2km, then is in >2km category la! -
jedamum:
Thanks! So, as long as one is using the foster parents method, there is no differentiation between those <1km and 1-2km? Just to confirm :salute:

will MOE do a check if cases are really genuine…cos i’m sure there might be some who just use the grandparents address by kids taken care by maid?
if so, these selfish parents are denying those genuine case & those parents living within 1 km. -

MOE will depend on other parents to tell on those who exploit the system (ie using addresses they do not have intention of residing in to register for P1).will MOE do a check if cases are really genuine...cos i'm sure there might be some who just use the grandparents address by kids taken care by maid?

sometimes can hardly blame these selfish parents - don't people do selfish things to get promoted fast/survive in the corporate world? those who go by the books can't do much if they did not want to shortchange their own morals for such gains.
oh man...here i go again... -
So what kind of proof is required to show that we are staying with the grandparents? During the declaration period, does the grandparents need to be around? Or just bring their NRIC will be sufficient?

Hi need help!
My nephew lives in yishun but my brother wants to register him for Hong Wen Primary using my mum's address as he is with my mum during weekends. Understand we need to do statutory declaration. Can someone advise the procedure how to go about doing it and what is the deadline? Thanks in advance for your help.
Does grandmother have to be unemployed then can qualify? :?
