my son scored 244 for PSLE

i am at a loss as of what school...
am i crazy to put catholic high, st andrew and SJI as my first 3 choices?
      Hi,
not sure what is the cut off for catholic high. but if your son can't get into it, chances are may not get into St andrew? Cos i thought St andrew will usually take all their students in first and only if has enough then open to public. Are there any other schools available to pick?

The famous Qifa Primary's top scorer for this year is 270. There are 19 students with 250 and above. My child got a 258!

          :congrats: :celebrate: Congratulations!

Is 258 enough to get me into RI saying that COP drops by a few points?

catholic high may be a bit risky. but really no one can safely predict what will happen. no harm trying.
st. andrew and sji should not be a problem.

then should i put dunman as my first, then second cedar, third mgs, fourth chij st nics?

I agree with a fellow forummer. Your choices seem are all over Singapore.

Bear this in mind, for DHS and St Nics, your T-score is 255 because they are SAP schools.

But for the other schools like NJC, Cedar, MGS etc, your T-score is 252, since HMT cannot be used for admission to these schools.

Other schools that you can consider would be Anglican High (quite convenient if you have SBS 24 or 45 near where you stay). Tanjong Katong Girls and Chung Cheng High Main if you have SBS 43 and 76. For CCHS, you would enter with 255 since they are a SAP school too.

I pretty much don't mind running all over (i couldnt find sth suitable for that) sg for a school suitable for me. but cedar with 252 shld be fine. mgs also should be. i think i might forget about NJC. >< probably CCHMS should be in my choices.

You can try, but be prepared to be rejected.
My son in HGPS scored 222... but now headache which sec sch to select... any advise??? he scored B for english, n d rest scored A....

Any advise for Compasvale Secondary Sch?? Thanks....

They having open house tomorrow I think. Its just opposite my estate. I don't really like the school. You must make sure your son doesn't fall into bad company when he is in that school. You can also consider Pei Hwa, Sengkang etc. Another school is Edgefield, a new secondary school. You can look it up.
Hi Livewith_vanilla,

Thanks for your advise....great to have your comments!!!

As for Edgefield, my side do not have straight bus... actually do heard that SengKang area have 2 or 3 gangster school (sorry to put it this way, my apologise if feel offensive), which my friend told me about it, as her niece stay n study SengKang area. Of course, my son must be sure he wont fall into bad company in the first place.....

Have friend to advise my son to apply CCHS, since he had his CCA which might help me to apply it, but need to go for appeal.... this few days need to go over and check the procedure...
