Hey,

I got 265, 4 A*. My school choices are probably, RGS, CHIJ st nicholas, Crescent, MGS, maybee NJC or cedar, tkgs and st. anthonys canossian secondary school.
πŸ™‚

i need to go to schools that are not sap though, cuz i take another mother tongue 😞
Hey, congrats. With a score of 265, you should be getting your first choice! Do you mean your mother tongue is not Chinese? or do you mean you plan to take a third language? Isn't SNGS a SAP school?

There are limited schools with T-score 210 for Express class. Anybody here would like to share your advice? I really don't wish to put my child in a lousy school. Can I appeal to opt for normal class in Good school? Teacher told me I cannot as result stated \"Express\" 😒

First thing first, where do you stay? West, etc etc? Not all schools with a COP of 210++ is a lousy school. In my experience, I'm in a T-score 210++ school, and my class/school mates are one of the most hardworking people I've ever seen, it really depends on the individual.

I am current NJC student and a friend of mine was rejected by my school at first but appealed successfully with the same score last year. Nevertheless, very good luck to your daughter πŸ˜„

How do you like the school (NJC)?

I would say I've never regretted coming here πŸ˜„ Although I admit the campus is pretty old, we are currently having renovations. The Integrated Programme is good for students who don't want to take O levels as usual. The school stresses that without having to take 'O's it gives a better opportunity for students to get exposed to more other activities for the first few years. πŸ™‚ And NJC really emphasizes on personal development and exposure to new stuffs and is not really the 'very stressful' kind that will give students a lot of stress. I would say NJC is a very considerable choice for your daughter (of course it does depends on her willingness). All the best to her :D
Hey Percalis,
255 - real risky to put 1st choice NYGH and 2nd choice RGS. Your daughter may not get either coz by the time NYGH is full, RGS would also be full. If you want to try then it's either NYGH or RGS. Then if she doesn't get it , then appeal.

Since you are in Hougang, here are some suggestions for you (not in any order though) :

Holy Innocents
Bowen
Seng Kang
North Vista
Hougang
St Gabriel's

Wow 25hourmaid,

U are fast... really thanks for your advise!!! phew... at least have a idea where to go onward... thanks for helping to trim it down...

Based on 25hourmaid's recommendation, my preferred order:
Bowen
St Gab
NV
SK
HG
Holy Innocent

I have friends teaching in all the above schools and I've been to Bowen to invigilate πŸ˜„
My preference is based not only on academic results produced by the school but also discipline and character building πŸ˜„

Both JCs have their merits. There are people in RGS who still end up transferring to HC because of their Humanities Programme.

I agree with meow_ as I don't think that \"RJC is top by a mile\" in every department; both HCI and RI has her strengths and weaknesses. It is better to match her interests with the strengths of the secondary school (and the JC eventually).

Have you actually seen the A level results? Just to fill you in. RJC had 362 students with perfect 80 points for entry to Uni. That is out of a cohort of 1285. (28.2%). Hwa Chong had 212 out of 1104 perfect scores (19.2%)
On the flipside, HC produced more PSC scholars than RJ. It really depends on the individual, and I agree with kiasuest2 that it's better to match your child's interests with the strengths of the secondary school or she won't be happy no matter how good the school is.
