I believe it's possible to get into TKGS though your daughter's score is only a point higher than the cut-off point. But if she really wants to get into Cedar, maybe she can try appealing?my daughter got a T score 0f 234. she was very disappointed as she expected to get into Cedar. cedar is definitely not an option now. what other schools do you suggest we consider?
some schools in my mind: TKGS, CHIJ TP, Tanjong Katong Sec, CHIJ Katong.
is it possible for her to get into tkgs? their COP is 233.
thanks in advance -
underthesea:
If your son doesn't meet any of the criteria set out by MOE, then he will not be allowed to take HCL in secondary school. HOWEVER, if he is posted to a secondary school that offers only HCL, then the school *may* allow him to take HCL.my boy got A for CL and a passed for HCL, can he take HCL is sec school? I read the MOE website, it said students can take HCL if he/she is within the top 10% or a A* in CL or a MERIT in HCL, he is not within any of them.
Please advise. TIA. -

Don't mean to be a damper, but 219 is quite far from St Hilda's non-affilated COP of 227. -

Appeal to Cedar only if you have something to offer to them, otherwise, think the chances are not very high since 234 is quite far from their COP last year.

Sorry for not being clear. It is actually quite easy to get into the IP programme. Usually those students who did not get into IP are because:
What do you mean by most? If my DS scored 254+2, is he absolutely [/b]confirmed an IP programme. It's really far from where I live, but I want an IP prog. for my son. If it is an O'level school. VS is nearer and cheaper.
1. Not consistent in their study. They usually dun do well in test and exam because they are lazy to study.
2. They are lazy to prepare a proper portfolio.
ACS(I) may have changed their selection criteria. I am not sure. You may want to check with the school. What I am offering was based on my experience teaching in that school. Most of the boys I taught got into IP programme unless they choose not to. There are some parents who prefer their sons to get O-level first. If they do well in O-level, they can still return to ACS(I) to continue with the IB programme. -

thnak u so much for the reply. I called up the school, they informed me that even girls with a score of 240 only have a slim chance of getting in. do u still think I should appeal? she was from contemp dance. SYF Silver.

If my DS’s score is 254+2, can he enter NJC? I’ve heard that Njc isn’t a SAP school and my HCL bonus points don’t apply there. is that true? Or should I try my luck for that school

Listen to 25hourmaid. Since yr dd has T-score of 234, her top choice must be Tg Katong Girls follow by Tg Katong.
