      Hi,

What are the recommended secondary school choices for T-score of 218? I'm staying in Bukit Panjang area. Is it worthwhile to try a school with a COP of around 225? Does it help if the pupil has participated in many ECAs when it comes to appeal to entry?
      Many thanks
I think to try a school with - 7 pt is risky. You can try Greenridge, Hilllgrove - theses schools are progressing quite well.

        Hi all

My son scored 255 +2. we stay in Toa Payoh. We r thinking of putting the following schools:

        1st - hwa Chong
        2nd - njc
        3rd - catholic high
        4th - Victoria school
        5th - ???
        6th- ???

I am hoping he can get into ip school and he is keen to go to hwa Chong.

As for njc, read one of the posts saying that teachers r not professional so not advisable to go there. Any views on this?

Also thinking whether to try nus high but a friend told me there r bgr issues. Btw if one is offered a place in nus high, does it mean he/she will not be offered a place in any of the 6 choices?

After reading so much about ip schools, I am even thinking of choosing river valley but it is way too far from Toa Payoh. However, Ds has more chances of getting in.
Headache now, so would appreciate advice on this.
        Thks

          Hi

For sec school with affiliation do they take in kids from their affiliated primary school which meets their exact COP and indicate them as their 1st choice or do they take in students with better T-scores first and the ones with lower T-scores sedcond although the ones with lower T-score are from affiliated school? Please Help.....

Thanks. I am thinking of Maris Stella as well. Which one will be a better choice - Chung Cheng (Main) or Maris Stella? What's the opinion for Tanjong Katong Secondary?

Both CCHM and Maris Stella have their own strengths, and I suppose that's where you have to do your homework? How about paying them a visit, going to the website etc to take a look? Important thing is that the child must be comfortable with whichever school that he is going to.

Heard from some fellow forummers who have kids at TKSS that it is quite a good school, but I do not have personal experience with that school.

i scored 210 coming from the top 3 class.. i really can't believe it because i studied very hard and i just fell sick right after the chinese paper, really unbelievable.. 😞

Not to worry, don't give up. PSLE is just part and parcel of life.

I did not know what had happened to my PSLE exams but I got into one of the worst Secondary School in Singapore, now not existing, with students smoking and fighting... gangster groups as well.... It was tough to accept as I was one of the top student in my primary school and I disappointed my father the most.

Shocked, confused and embarrassed but I had to move on ..... Years later, I graduated from Local University with First Class Honours !

You can too and you will ! Tell us the good news in Kiasu Parents 13 years later.

Ya very right. My friend's dd scored 203 in psle and now she is in JC, I believe you can do it also. Move-on and work hard.

Really? :? In my boys' days, the national average was 230 and I was told to use that as a gauge. 200 is a bit low in my opinion as national average.

I remember driving past Princess E in Bukit Batok (a very hot sch in the west) & they published their average t-score as slightly less than 200 (think it's 198). So 230 as national average seems quite high to me.

Schools with affiliated primary schools will take in all their affiliated primary students first (those who qualify based on affiliation scores). They will then consider non-affiliated students for the remaining vacancies.

                        Hi 25hourmaid,

I am thinking of the following schools for my DS

                        1st choice - SJI (affifilation)
                        2nd choice - Chung Cheng High School (236 - 263)
                        3rd choice - TKS (234 - 257)
                        4th choice - Maris Stella High School (232 - 261)
                        5th choice - Nan Chiau (231 -258)

                        What is yr view?

                        Tx
