Sorry to burst your daughter's little bubble but it seems that both her dream schools are beyond her reach, how about RV, that is nearer to her T-score and does she has HMT to add on?tim1188:
Hi ..need some advice ...my daugther PSLE T score is 252 .
She is very delighted with her result ..as she did not expect to cross 240.
She is wants to go RGS (260-2010 COP) or Duman High(258-2010 COP).
Her chances are very low am i right ? Any advice to us ?
25hourmaid , thank you for your advice ..it really burst ( risky) now ..she does not have HMT. She feels like the sandwich class now ...

Any grad from Peking or Tsinghua unis who apply for residential status to popular destination like Canada, academically, is placed at the very top.

I am living in West area. Which sec school do you recommend me to go with a aggregate score of 236. 4A and a HMT distinction so is 236+3
You may want to consider Swiss Cottage, Commonwealth. -

I take that to mean that you agree that RI/RJC has not much advantage with better brand name with the western universities over HCI. Better HCI has a better reputation with Beida and Tsinghua.
Yes, one should choose the road less travelled. ha haINNOVATE:

Peking and Tsinghua are now considered as elite unis. Grads of these unis are warmly welcome in leading western societies.
A 2009 President's scholar is doing economics at the Peking University, also fondly called \"Beida\" in China. -

The computer will allocate based on MERIT first. So the student with 259 will be allocated his choice of school before the student who scores 258, 257 etc.
hi, tks for the input. ACSI is too far. btw, will it jeopardize his chance if a school is placed as 2nd/3rd choice? the admittance to school is based on merit (score) or order of choices? let's say HCI cop is 257, will a boy with 257 and put HCI as 1st choice has priority over someone with 259 but put HCI as 2nd choice?sunzhi:

You should put RI as first choice. There's no harm. If he doesn't get RI he'll be considered for his 2nd/3rd choice etc. You can also consider ACSI.
So anyone who's ranked above your son will get to exercise his choice first, regardless of whether it's his 1st choice, 2nd choice etc. Similarly, your son will get to exercise his choice before those ranked below him. So if he doesn't get his first choice of RI, he will get his 2nd choice etc before the computer moves down to the person ranked after him.[/quote]jtoh is right. MOE system stores the aggregate score with multiple decimal points for ranking purpose. Hence, at the end of the day, it is important to discuss with your DS to allow him to rank his choices and then you moderate to ensure it is indeed a good combination. He must be comfortable with his choice as this is going to be another 6 years journey. Hope you get what I mean. Last year, my DS wants HCI and I want him to get into RI for convenience sake. At the end, I stepped back. Both RI and HCI are great schools. Anyway, congratulations for the good achievement!

Hi Innovate,octupusum
Choosing RI as yr top choice is going to be a big mistake. Unless he has something good to offer on appeal otherwise, his chances of being posted to HCI is going to be severely affected vs others with similar score choosing HCI as top choice.
I would advice you choose yr 3rd choice wisely.
My son is inclined towards Science and Maths. Going by your analysis, he should be choosing RI. But with a score of only 258, will you advice putting RI as his first choice? Or will it be a big mistake? What are his chances for getting RI with only 258?
Please advise. Thank you.
