With 255+2, I am seriously not sure if my son will \"shine\" in hci if he manages to get in since he will be the bottom of the cohort but if I don't seize this chance of letting him try out in an ip school, will we regret it in future?

In hci, is the allocation of classes bases on t score so all those who juz made it will go to the bottom classes or each class has a mix of students?
Personally my PSLE score was near the COP of my school and I got in through DSA. It sort of \"reset\" for me, I'm scoring better than some of my peers who score higher than me for PSLE. (Around the top 20% in the cohort) But there are students who didn't score very well for PSLE and don't work hard at all after going to sec 1 and results didn't turn out very well in the end.

Is depends on you and your DS. My son score is 235 (1A* and 3A) as well but I would still want him to go to (tentatively):

1st Choice: Maris Stella
2nd Choice: Chung Cheng High (Main)
3rd Choice: Tanjong Katong Sec Sch
4th Choice: St. Andrew
5th & 6th: Not decided

25hourMaid - Is my choice OK?

Alamak!  You make me sound like an expert in this area! Please don't for I am not! Merely helping out since I have gone through this twice and am done with it.

Okay, back to serious business. Thought you have not decided on the choices yet? Thought you wanted to go and look-see over the weekend?

But looking at it, I would say your choices are good and chances of getting into either Maris Stella or CCHM is quite high. Have you considered Dunman Sec too (COP 231) and I heard that it is also not bad.

25hourMaid, with same T-score (235), is TKSS as 1st choice wise? Thx.

My daughter got 248 we live in Khatib(Yishun) and we prefer girl schools, based on our knowledge so far we intend to go for the following choices:-

1nd choice- CEDAR(code 3004)
2st choice- CHIJ St nicholas (code 7118)
3rd choice-Anderson(code 3001)
4th choice- Nan Chiau (code 7112)
5th choice- Yishun Town (code 3045)
6th choice-Crescent(code 3005)

Is there any other good choice that I am missing here? Your help is much appreciated.

I have friends whose kids are at TKSS and they are happy there. Also there are some very good feedback in the TKSS thread in this forum. You might want to go and read some of the comments there.
I am new to this forum.

My son got score 218 only though he got 4A (with CL). Anyone can advice how the aggregate score calculated. When I checked around even for 3A+1B got 238, and 4A al least in 242+ region.
Both me and my son were disappointed with the result.
I thought of appealing to review the result but most of them discouaraged me, and the result may be the same what we have now.
What should I do and which school he can go in with current score in Ang Mo Kio area?

Is Perice Sce school good?

Thanks in adavance for ur advice..

Perice Sec is not a bad school. As for your question about the 3A+1B, it has to depend on your son marks. 3 high A and a middle B would have gotten 238. My son got 4A and a distinction for HMT and only got 236+3

so the range of 4A can be from 218 to 236

the band for 'A' is a very wide one, hence people speaks of low A, middle A or high A
Thanks for your advice.

Is he able to join Mayflower or Ang Mo kio Sec school those are near by but his COP can't match. What's your advice?
