Hi, to all those staying in the North or familiar in North side...

Please help to advise which is a better school for my daughter scored 224..

Im planning to include the following:
      Mayflower
      Beatty
      Peirce

i have no particular order yet, im not local here, so i would really appreciate if anyone can feedback which is better between the 3 schools...
Beatty is better one. My daughter's friend studies there & seems to be quite happy since last year PSLE. It is good school for girls

What is the difference between putting a school as ur 1st choice and putting a school as ur 6th choice??? :?:

Okay lets say last year I scored 259 for my PSLE.

I placed Cedar Girls as my first choice. As MOE ranks each and every pupil who took the PSLE paper, when it is my turn, the computer would first look at my first choice, in this case Cedar Girls.
As Cedar Girls still has vacancies when it is my turn, I am admitted to Cedar Girls.

However, if I placed my choices like this:

        1. School A (COP 262)
        2. School B (COP 263)
        3. School C (COP 262)
        4. School D (COP 261)
        5. School E (COP 263)
        6. Cedar Girls

I placed Cedar Girls as my sixth choice.

So the MOE system would do it like this.
They rank each and every one who took the PSLE paper.
When it is my turn, the computer would see if there is any vacancy in my 1st choice, School A. If there isn't, the computer would move on to my 2nd choice, School B. Then to school C, school D and to School E.
Lets say there are no vacancy in any of my first five choices.
Then finally the computer would go on to my final choice, Cedar Girls.
There are vacancies in Cedar Girls, thus I am able to get into Cedar Girls.

Hope You understand my explanation !

as long as u meet the COP of any of the schools in your list, they will post u to the highest one on the list.

              I don't think so.

My choices were as such for this year:

              1. Cedar Girls
              2. Anderson
              3. NJC
              4. DHS
              5. Nan Chiau
              6. Xin Min

              I scored 259+2.

So that means if I meet the COP of either NJC or DHS, i will get posted to one of these schools instead of my first choice, Cedar Girls?

you must 1st fall within the COP, then they'll put u in the school that is higher up.

If u qualify for Cedar, then u will get Cedar since its your 1st choice.

If u qualify for NJC and DHS but NOT Cedar & Anderson, then they'll put u in NJC which is higher than DHS

Just curious here. If u r a boy and u try to apply for all-girl sch in S1 option, will the system automatically reject the submission? :?

Good question. And the answer is \"YES\", the system will know it. So the system does not allow you to submit, you have to correct the error first.

hi all , my son scored 241 for his psle , i'm wondering what school to let him go . My choides are :

                    Yishun town sec
                    Chung cheng (yishun)
                    Anderson
                    Nan chiau
                    I'm really confuse . Helppppp !!
Where do you reside in ?

                    Your chosen schools :

                    Yishun Town Sec (COP 235)
                    Chung Cheng (Yishun) (COP 230)
                    Anderson (COP 245)
                    Nan Chiau (COP 231)

You can also consider the following schools :

                    Xinmin Sec (COP 240)
Chung Cheng High School main (COP 236)
Bukit Panjang Govt. High (COP 241) <-A little risk there.
                    St Joseph's Institution (COP 241)

There is some risk in choosing Anderson. Anderson's COP is 245 while your son's COP is 241. Its a 4 marks difference.

Thanks TTLKBS, Below are my choice do you or others had any opinion?
                      1) Temasek COP 193
                      2) Ngee Ann COP 192
                      3) Dunman Sec COP 180
                      4) CHIJ Katong Convent COP 181
                      5) Hai Sing COP 183
                      6) Bedok South COP 164

any other School which is Suitable for my Girl of T-Score of 190? We are staying at Bedok. thanks :?:

Why do you have Dunman placed ahead of CHIJ and Hai Sing?

No special reason, just that Dunman is at Tampines which is nearer that's all? you suggestion is put hai Sing in 3rd, follow by CHIJ the Dunman. am I correct?[/quote]A couple of years ago, my niece scored 190++ and she facing problems choosing sec school so I suggested KC as the school will up her EL1 score and it is also affilated to CJC in case she want to go JC after 5 years. She did pretty well and now doing accountancy....so when choosing sec sch, i will also take in any allfilation after o level....very kiasu right...lol

Perhaps you should use 1st choice, 2nd choice etc.
