Xue Er You Language Centre - Discussion

Hi there,
Have anyone tried out this language school at CCK? I understand it is run by 梁文福.
Any comments? Cos i’m currently on waiting list for my son for the 小一预备班 over at Berries…looking for other alternatives.
Thank you. -

I went to the Jurong West branch to check out their teaching materials. I am not impressed. Their materials are like copying out from assessment books. The teacher for the class I was asking for, is a Malaysian, and she is working part time. So I wonder whether she is qualified or trained to teach. I still prefer native speakers.
梁文福 only lent his face to the school, he does not do any teaching at all. -

I have to agree with what Tamarind said here - it is better to have native speaking teachers to teach for Chinese. Me too - went to the Jurong West to make enquiries before and was not impressed with the centre. The lady at the counter is trying to sell the courses to me but unable to convince me when I ask questions regarding the MOE syllabus or its contents. Fortunately - thru recommendation of a friend, I found another centre nearby and all the teachers there are native speaking. Both my gals have been there for the past 2 years and benefit from the teachers there. -

Who is this person? Sorry I am not familiar with Chinese teachers, is he or she some very recognised teacher? I have a friend who is going to register her son there and I am helping to find feedback. Thank you for your feedback about the materials and teacher, I will let her know but she seems keen because she says it is recommended to her by her colleague. -
jasmineong,
He has a PhD in Chinese, teaching in the university, I think. He is famous because he wrote many Chinese pop songs before. -
