Hi there,

Have anyone tried out the TLC Student Care at Chua Chu Kang? Looking around for a after school student care near that area.

So I wonder whether she is qualified or trained to teach. I still prefer native speakers.

梁文福 only lent his face to the school, he does not do any teaching at all.
I have to agree with what Tamarind said here - it is better to have native speaking teachers to teach for Chinese. Me too - went to the Jurong West to make enquiries before and was not impressed with the centre. The lady at the counter is trying to sell the courses to me but unable to convince me when I ask questions regarding the MOE syllabus or its contents. Fortunately - thru recommendation of a friend, I found another centre nearby and all the teachers there are native speaking. Both my gals have been there for the past 2 years and benefit from the teachers there.
Hi Tamarind, Champion...

Thanks for the feedback..I better think twice about enrolling him there then.

Anyway, for those who are interested at Berries (Bukit Batok Branch). I understood that there is a new class open for 小一预备班 - on Sat, 5:20pm for year 2011. (I can't enrol my son for this new slot as i got other commitment in the evening 😞

Thank you.

Dear parents,

I intend to enrol my DD1 in Tien Hsia at JP Branch for next year K2.
Any comment on this centre? Thanks a lot.
Or any chinese enrichment centre in the west to recommand?
Hi there,

I recently just started to send my girl to Berries @ Bukit Batok and apparently she likes the way they teach. She's P2 going P3.. They also have a little corner - with lots of Chinese books and a tv room for story telling and video. I currently waitlisted for my son - also K2 next year.
Hi All,

Anyone let thier kid take the following course from Yuquan Lang Sch?

中华字经》快速识字课程
成语识字 Cool

Hi Titank,

My girl attended the 成语识字 Cool during school holiday since last year and this year's June holiday. Yuquan Lang Sch actually work with her sch to have the holiday training within the sch.

i think it all depends on individual because she don't really make use of it at this moment - she P2 this year. She recognised the word but not the meaning that well.

Oh really Yuquan work with your girl school? The Yuquan is trying to sell me the 2 program but I agreed that if they know the word without the meaning might as well we own self teach? I mean teach the 成语识字?
it come with cds as well but frankly speaking - i did not really go through it so not sure what is in the cd - it would be good if they have explanation and example so that you could self teach - let me go home and flip through...
Not sure about this coming holiday as i have yet to received any enrolment form - she's with Unity Primary School. ohh, working with school but we need to pay for the course - not free - maybe at a cheaper rate and held in the sch.
Yes, i agreed - self teach, but i don't have the time and it's very tiring and STRESS to teach her after work! I have recently registered her with Berries at Bukit Batok and she has learnt from her first lesson \"津津有味\" the meaning and how to use it in a short writing which i thought was quite good - like what the teacher told me - they have to keep using it so that they are familiar with all these chinese 词汇 etc.

i got the timetable for next year as i'm signing my girl for P3 chinese..think the class is still within 2 hrs. Have anyone tried 学而优语文中心 at YewTee?

jedamum:
24hr-mum:

the one for berries whc is 3 hrs is normal chinese enrichment right? what abt the WOL?

so far i only know that the 3hrs is for P5 and P6.
WOL hours remain the same. downside is there is very limited timeslot for WOL programmes as their prime time is allocated to their more lucrative/popular main programmes.

• RE: Comparing Chinese Enrichment (Primary/Preschool)

Hi all,

Currently sourcing for a chinese language enrichment sch for both my kids, girl @ 8 yrs old and boy @ 5 yrs old.

I have heard of Tian Hsia and Berries, but which is more recommeded?

I am staying at the west side, so was thinking of either TianHsia at CCK or Berries @ Bukit Batok CC.

My girl doesn’t hate Chinese but she just don’t like it when i revised chinese with her. She rather do Math or English but not Chinese. My boy shows interest in learning Chinese, so was thinking of puting them in the same school together.

Thank you.
