i got the timetable for next year as i'm signing my girl for P3 chinese..think the class is still within 2 hrs. Have anyone tried 学而优语文中心 at YewTee?

the one for berries whc is 3 hrs is normal chinese enrichment right? what abt the WOL?

so far i only know that the 3hrs is for P5 and P6.
WOL hours remain the same. downside is there is very limited timeslot for WOL programmes as their prime time is allocated to their more lucrative/popular main programmes.

It is important to have more character recognition power so that when the kids attend the compo & oral class from various enrichment centre would be more beneficial!

Now need to find more enrichment to beef up comprehension & composition. From what I know, P2 onwards the kids would start to write at least 4 pictures composition?

re yuquan idiom class, i read from the thread "all abt chinese enrichment" towards the back pgs that they just ask the child copy the idioms, nvr explain the meaning.

                      Hi Titank,

My girl attended the 成语识字 Cool during school holiday since last year and this year's June holiday. Yuquan Lang Sch actually work with her sch to have the holiday training within the sch.

i think it all depends on individual because she don't really make use of it at this moment - she P2 this year. She recognised the word but not the meaning that well.

Like most parents, my wife and me struggle to find time to teach our daughter. So, we look for solutions that can help my daughter cultivate good habits. Beside her usual preschool lessons, we send her to enrichment courses on weekends. Very tiring for parents and kid.

I travel to China pretty often. I found this very affordable reading pen, couple with various Chinese book titles (over 500 books suitable for all ages of children) by almost all major Chinese book publishers, it can read to my daughter while my wife and me are busy at work. My domestic helper could not teach my daughter Chinese. Best part is native Chinese speaker is narrating the stories. Almost every page has interactive games that prompt the young mind with numerous questions to explore answers that are found on the page. When the correct answer is selected, the reading pen compliment the young one. If the incorrect answer is selected, the reading pen will encourage the kids to continue the search.

I start mine at the age of 3. She is 5 now and her command of the Chinese language is above her peers in school. Her pronunciation is accurate and her choice of Chinese words is also much wider. She used it whenever she is riding in the back seat of our car and before going to bed.

I have not seen anything similar in Singapore. I thought of sharing this reading solution to help our busy Singaporean parents strengthen our kids’ interest in the Chinese language.

Make no mistake that this solution can replace other teaching methods in the marketplace. They are all complimenting products and services. Parents just need to choose wisely based on our budget and the potential benefits.

If you are interested to get hold of one, reply to this message so I can provide you with more information. Help spread it to others who may find it helpful. The more people interested, the price will be lower. Otherwise, thank you for your time.
