Sure? But the official source from MOE says SJI's Phase 2B balloting are for those outside of 2km. See http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/system/files/2007+MOE+P1+Phase+2B+Balloting+Info.pdf. -

Same discovery too. The 2007 stats on pri 1 registration which I’d obtained from the school i’m trying for differs from that of the info from MOE. According to MOE, under Phase 2B for ACSJ - there was balloting for those above 2km but the school informed me that balloting was only conducted for those from 1km - 2km.

can someone pls explain to me? Eg, Nanyang Primary is not in the balloting list, does that mean that all applicants are accepted including those outside 2km?

No, it means that the school only accepted registrants who live within 1km.
If you refer to last year's balloting info at -http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/system/files/2007+MOE+P1+Phase+2C+Balloting+Info.pdf
It is mentioned in the document under point 3 that Nanyang only have spaces for children who have registered in the school and are living within 1km of the school. All children living outside of 1km are unsuccessful in their registration. -
pardon me, I still don’t get it.
How about say Anderson? If it’s not in the balloting list means they only accept registrants within 1km too? -
agent66:
I guess Anderson is not a good example because it was in the balloting list last year and balloting was required for registrants between 1km-2km.pardon me, I still don't get it.

Balloting only applies if the no. of applicants exceeds the number of spaces available. So for example, schools like Jintai Primary and Ang Mo Kio Primary are not in the balloting list because the number of registrants are lesser than the spaces available in the school. So, those who'd registered will definitely get a space in the school.
Exception would be like in the case of Nanyang Primary. It was not in the balloting list because they simply took in all the registrants that was within 1km to the school because the no. of applicants matched the no. of spaces available. -
ok, so it means that if there are still vacancies after taking in those within 1km or 1-2km, they will also take in those outside 2km?
I do not see Anderson under the balloting list last year :? that's why I am confused. http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/system/files/2007+MOE+P1+Phase+2B+Balloting+Info.pdf -
Basically if the no. of registrants do not exceed that of the no. of spaces available, they would take all the registrants into the school. Proximity to the school will only be taken into consideration when balloting is required.
Sorry, I'd posted the wrong link. The one I'd posted was for balloting info under 2B last year. Go to this link instead.
