      :?

new here...and definitely new abt the primary sch system etc..
how do u all find out about the pri sch, like war cirrculum, ECA etc?
whether single session or not? via each primary school's URL? or there are somewhere that have these kind of information/summary?

My son is 2006's... of coz still long way to go to talk abt P1 registration, but i would like to know the necessary first, so tat i wont caught during the last minute.

i am eyeing Jiemin as of now, coz it's only 200m+ from my parents' hse..
this school should be not bad πŸ™ ... anyway din do much research, beside this i duno which one to go oso..
Not opting ChongFu nor northland, coz not ex-student nor belong to the clan and not within 1km..my chance is slimmer than slim...
i am staying in khatib area de..

      any advice for me pls...
      thankie..

        VIRGO! welcome to KSP :hugs:
CCAs and peek into school life, you can get from the school's website.
Single session or not, you can go to http://app.sis.moe.gov.sg/schinfo/SIS_index.asp and then select your choice of schools - the pop up page will display the whether its single or double session. Do note that the CCAs listed in the pop up list may not be accurate. for CCAs, best is refer to the sch's website.
finally, do read http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3311 - a lot of info for you to digest.

You may email to northland begin of next year for 2006. As I registered begin of this year and they reply me for born 2005 will notify me again on this July. So at least you prepared yourself earlier. Never try never knw mah..

I am choosing school for my child born in 2004. At this moment, I am skewed towards chongfu over northland for the folowing reasons:

                  1. Chongfu is stronger in Chinese and I believe most good student can score well in Maths and Science but it is the languages that give the ace student the edge over the rest. Students who does well in their languages, especially Chinese, tends to do better in terms of score.

                  2. Chongfu school's physical environment is better. I have visited both school during the PV meet up and I find the physical environment of Chongfu much better than Northland. Chongfu appears to be bright and airy while Northland has more dark corners.

                  3. Chongfu has good results in their table tennis team. Dun underestimate the possibiity of DSA πŸ˜‰ , had a colleague whose daughter is good in table tennis....DSA to Nanyang Girls...

                  4. Well this is bias but I dun like the Northland teacher (yah just that one teacher) that we met during the PV session...so stuck up...whereas Chongfu...the principal was there too...they areso sincere....

So for now....Chong fu is a clear choice...will only change if SNGS select us for PV.....

I have 2 girls (twins born in 2005). Currently, we are evaulating our options for Primary school.

We have already confirmed the distance from SLA website.
                      Chongfu - 1~2km
                      Northland - 1~2km (from my parent’s place)

I’m actually very keen in CF as I feel that the chinese tradition is important. But Northland is also not bad as well.

                      2 things I’m concerned about:
                      1) Can i apply PV for the 2 schools?
                      1) When should I join PV?
                      2) Does my twins actually stand a better chance when it comes to ballot?
