All About Yoga for Kids
-
I used to learn Taichi, but stopped after I got kid. It feels good to sweat though.
I suppose yoga and Taichi can be good for kids for them to do some activities that don’t get hurt easily. -
I've sent my ds for attending yoga kids at Toa Payoh Safra when she was in P2 due to her poor concentrations. After attended for 6 mths, she started to show improvement in her concentrations. She joined CO and table tennis in school too. Her concentrations and grades improved after attending the three. So, I think it does help

yes yoga and like many other sports promote discipline and the ability for children to take instructions, so it's good to take yoga my friends or pilates if u do not like namaste bit...but must be older like p1 onwardssuper_dad:
that's some weird niece and nephew you have...
Actually, I believe taichi can build up mental discipline in a way similar to yoga. When done properly, it is really good exercise too. It's just not as \"glamorous\" as things like gym and ballet. -
i would like to pick up yoga with my niece! anyone knows a programme suited for mom and kids? heard it helps to de-stress, teacher's life very stressed! haha
i saw this link http://www.yoga.org.sg any comments on programmes? -
Yoga for kids is actually a very good way to teach the children to focus and quieten down. It improves their concentration.
In most places, kids yoga especially for preschoolers, are done in a very fun way. At the beginning, it will be showing them different poses and they usually use animals like flamingo or dog or sometimes nature like grand old oak tree or mountain. Once the kids are familiar with the poses, the next step is to get them to hold the poses coupled with breathing exercises.
If you kids are a bundle of energy and cannot sit still to complete a task or gets distracted very easily, yoga might help. -
kids' yoga are designed with plenty of movements but at the same time incorporating concentration techniques without making it too 'obvious'. it's supposed to be fun

It was reported in the news that yoga may not be suitable for everyone.

:!: There's such a thing as baby yoga!?Hi,
Anyone can recommend baby yoga classes? Thanks
Not necessary lah... Don't let those yoga business con you into such a thing. I've practiced yoga since 20 years ago. Last time only 5 yoga schools and now so many until they even have yoga for babies.
