I'm sure the camp is important and fun and you'll benefit from it. If you miss the award presentation, MOE will still send you the check.

Ok thanks 🙂 but mine is organised by the rc...?

Uh btw LDDS = Language, drama & debating society or sth similar is that correct?

If you decide to go to the camp fire, I am sure you can tell RC about it. If you decide to go to RC, I am quite sure you can ask RC to write you a letter to excuse from the camp fire.

I am quite sure nothing much will happen if you tell your teacher in charge to excuse from the camp fire. But I believe you will miss an experience never to be found again.

There r kids who like UG and put as first choice. I would think its a good training if boys choose UG like NCC or NPCC. Physically fit well prepare for NS 🙂

After you kids gone for the test and trials, put in the 6 choices, and see which CCAs select them. Then you can try consider which one to choose. For my child, two CCAs selected her (exclude UG). Then from the two, we choose.
Some changes this year. Students get to go for trials for all CCAs. After which they will have to select 2 UG and 2 performing arts or sports. We don't get to know which CCA selected them yet.
Then the school will allocate them to respective CCAs.
The bad thing is you can't indicate which is your 1st choice between UG and performing arts /sports.
That's why some boys are upset that they are posted to dance and choir.
Hope that the school will change this next year to allow students to indicate their 1st choice.

Some students purposely perform badly during the trial for those CCA they dislike

                    HI daisyt

just read about the camp. it is not compulsory but students are encouraged to go and those who complete the camp will not need to attend school on the following monday… guess will let ds go. it should be fun…

as for tea ceremony, do u know if we can bring the younger kids along?

i also just found out about the GAT test that they have to take on the first day. why the need to take the test?

as for ccas, they have to join 2. say my son is interested in table tennis and is good enough to be selected, training is on tues, fri and sat. does it mean he can join only table tennis since it already takes up 3 days a week? assuming he joins another sport, say badminton, and he also joins inforcomm, won’t the timing clash since he need to attend both on tues and fridays? need to seek some clarifications as i am confused how the kids can manage 2 ccas when the timings seem to clash with one another …puzzled…

                    thks

There is no GAT & tea party for dd this year. Something new.

Core CCA (UG or Performing arts) is on Tues and Fri.
Second CCA is termed as IDP (sports), it will fall on Mon, Wed or Thurs. It will not clash.

If a student is selected for Sports as Core CCA, means the training is 3 days and therefore do not need IDP. Just 1 CCA.

Maybe there will be changes again next year, not sure.
