      Hi,

My kids are with Kinderland MP. The 2 older ones went through from pre-N to K2 and they are now in P1 and P2.

My youngest is in Nursery currently and she also started with Pre-N. I never regret sending them to Kinderland and this is the reason :
      * Teachers have been there for a long time. Fairly low turnover though during our 6 yrs with them, for my P2 girl we only encounter 1 incident when she is in nursery.
      * So far, the teachers that we encounter are quite nice
      * My P1 boy is those vocal type. His kinderland teacher (usually K1 and K2 will be the same teacher) acknowledge this and build upon his strength and see the good aspect of it rather than thinking he is noisy.
      * They learn widely and in a fun environment. My kids are those who enjoys learning and going to school. This applies to primary school
      * They adapt well in primary school during the initial stage.
      * For my P2, I never send her to any maths enrichment classes during pre-school. I only did that for my P1. My P2 did ok (those 80+ type). However I feel that my P1 is stronger in maths than my P2 given the enrichment classes he attended (eg. my P1 started Kumon in K2 and Enopi in P1).

In term of learning environment, we like Kinderland. Meanwhile for academic, it’s quite difficult for me to comment as I am those mum who send kids to enrichment classes so I cannot attribute if it is kinderland/ enrichment class that contribute to their results.

I passed by Twinkle star? the other day as the kids were at literacy circle hol prog. No comments on cirriculum but just find that bldg alittle dingy…

Both my kids went to kinderland MP too. Till today they still remember "Kinderland’s a nicer place to be, KINDERLAND!!"

They spent 3 happy years there. Back then there wasn’t that many choices. Only PAP and kinderland. so it was fairly easy for us to decide.

            Hi,

Kinderland teaches phonics however I find that focus is not VERY strong as compared to a phonics program. Eg. I send the kids to pure phonics enrichment program on a weekly basis and the coverage is much more since it’s just phonics. Betwen N2 to K2, they start from basic letter sounding to advanced phonics such as more complex blending. It really help the kids in reading and spelling.

Kinderland also uses a approach that is call WTR (Write to read). Where the kids use the computer to help them sound out words and they write story using that.

Note that Kinderland also includes weekly music class at Crestar. It’s music appreciation in early stage and they move to keyboard from K1.

Actually other options in that area would be NAFA? (long waiting list), Tung Ling Kinderland and St Hilda Kindergarden (I think some of the kids’ classmates switch there for the stronger chinese focus).

                Hi

My daughter will attend N1 next year. I am looking at kinderland at yio chu kang because of where i stay and they also have school bus service to bring kids home. I have checked through the thread but did not see feedback on kinderland yck.

Mummies and daddies would you care to share your experience on this school? Their curriculum, class size, teachers quality and etc. I understand different branches are run by different people so the standard may not be the same for all.

Bilingual program which adopts a thematic approach to introduce children to an integrated holistic learning style. There are about twenty theme in a year, each theme implemented with a variety of activities. Play is a powerful and effective medium to promote all-round development of toddlers. Thus, the programs revolved around “Learning thru play” approach, which design to build child’s attention span, to learn through interaction with peers and adults. It also encourages self-expression, creativity through meaningful programs like music, movement & games, Kindercize (physical activities to help build fine & gross motor skills), art & craft & a variety of language actitivities in English and Mandarin.
