Did u check your boy's bag? Coz the parents are supposed to sign the worksheet. Yup, it's the stellar worksheet kind.

      Same goes to tingxie.

Every week i have to acknowledge the spelling and tingxie on the exercise book.
This week, the spelling brought forward to Monday, instead of Tue.
Didnt have time to revise with my Son. 😞

Have stop giving ds allowance. He kept giving the money to his friend who asked for it. And they went to bookshop to buy those pencils, toys! :x

So now I dun have any choice, gotta pack lunch for him, coz he will not use money to buy food.
haha...my son keep receiving free toys from one of his classmate.
This classmate keep buying toy every recess and pass to my boy for safe keep.
sometime he never want it back, now my son is influenced by the buying spree... asking me whether can use the recess money to buy toy too. 😐

Hi, I’m a parent volunteer at contact time since last year. There is always a teacher or two together with some parent volunteer in the hall during contact time which begins at 12.30 - 1.30pm. We made a fish ornament during the CNY. While the teachers went for staff meeting, the parent volunteers organised activity for the boys during the contact time. There is always activity being organised be it a movie, quiz time, puzzle, art & craft. We do need more parent volunteers around during contact time especially during games activity. Do come down and take a look for yourself or join the parent volunteer group for contact time. We certainly do need extra hands!!

I'm keen to join the parent volunteer but that has to be next semester, coz I've yet to ffind someone to look after ds2. Haha. Can send me more details about the parent volunteer info?

beside contact time, what other areas can I volunteer? I am keen to help but contact time is during working hours which I do not have to chance to do so 😢

                      Hi All,

I'm a Parent Volunteer (PV) during contact time too.
As what Fishball said, we're currently short-handed as PVs from last year have \"graduated\" when their boys are in P3 this year.
So we would definitely welcome new PVs to join us! 🙂

I've been helping out with Contact Time since last year too and its's the enthusiasm that the boys show during the contact time activities (be it art & craft, Quiz or just movies), that have kept us going!

PVs are needed to for reading programs (Chinese or English - reading to boys who need help, usually they will assign 2 boys to a PV), Cathecism classes, helping out in the library, contact time, carnivals, etc.

We have a yahoo group for St Joseph's Institution Jr PV:
                      http://asia.groups.yahoo.com/group/SJIJRPV/

Currently it's mostly used for Contact Time activity update.
Do register with the group if you're interested in volunteering.
For Contact Time, we need more volunteers during art & craft sessions.
You don't have to come every Wednesday, can choose to come on those Wednesdays which you can make it. Just come up to the hall at about 12.30pm and approach any of the teachers / PVs!

I'm sure your sons will be happy and proud to see mummies/daddies getting involved in their school activities and you get to know your sons' classmates too! The boys are really a lovable lot!

I was just wondering if the sch allows parents to go in and out, wouldn't it compromise the safety and security aspects? :?

                        Just a thought lah...
