Hi Cin,
For distance, call up the school, they will be able to let you know.
You had better hurry, for PV the dateline is 30June if it is not already closed.
Good luck! -

You are most welcome, cin. Yes! By 30Jun2009 you gotta be a PV then serve 40 hours within the 1 year means by 30Jun2010. Then the P1 registration is in July 2010 for P1 entering Jan 2011.RRmummy,

If you wanna PV then you really gotta decide fast otherwise you will have to go for your ex-school or try out the scary Phase 2C.. -

Err.. cin, you can check with MOE if it has your primary school has merged with any other school. If yes, and you can show proof (report card/PSLE results) that you came from that old school you are still considered ex-student..If my former school is still around that will have solve my problem. my hb is a boys school. From the past statistics:
Rulang - you have to be PV, otherwise >1km under 2C - no chance
Jurong Primary - >2km Y2008 no chance but other years OK..
Juying - no problem
You may want to go thru this thread, there were some earlier postings on Jurong Primary.. -
Anyone doing PV at West Grove ?
Any idea whether there are enough places for everyone who completed 40 hours of PV ?
I just called West Grove, the staff said they do not release the information. It is either balloting or no balloting, which is not helpful at all. -
nobody can tell as registration has not started.
PV are not guaranteed places in school. PV just allow you to register your child in phase 2B (1 phase earlier) that’s all.
if there is higher number of applicants than places available, then allocation will be by distance & ballot, as per other phases. -

Yes I know that PV does not guarantee places in school. However, the principal should already know how many kids' parents have completed 40 hours of PV, and she should know how many places are available for in phase 2B. So she should be able to tell me whether balloting is needed right ?nobody can tell as registration has not started.

She wont be able to tell for sure how many applicants there are in earlier phases and how many applicants whose parents are grass-root leaders contenting with the PV.

Tamarind, tankee is rite. The principal wont be able to tell u whether balloting is required or not at this point of time.
What u can do is to ask the principal how many phase 1 students are there this year. Then u gauge/estimate yourself the phase 2A1 and 2A2 numbers based on past years' statistics. After that you divide the places left by 2 to find out number of vacancies available for 2B. U can also ask the principal how many PVs has completed 40 hrs. Then estimate the number of grassroot leaders based on past years stats again too see whether u need balloting or not. Note that WG has 30 places less this year compared to last year.
