Many of my ds's friends get into the CCA that is not in any of their options and those promised a place during the trial were also not posted to the CCA. :?
I wonder how the CCA is allocated. :scratchhead: -
My son is in Sec 3 this year and I understand he has to sign up for mother tongue GCE O Level exam.
I thought they only take in Sec 4.
Does anyone know :
1)if this is for CL or HCL?
2)if he is to take the exam again in Sec 4?
Very confused now. And my son also very blur boy. -

According to my ds (sec 3) only some were asked to do it this year. IS this optional? But he is not sure for CL. But I thot HCI never cater for this arrangement? Is this something new ? can other sec 3 parents clarify ? Whether it is for all or only some?My son is in Sec 3 this year and I understand he has to sign up for mother tongue GCE O Level exam.

it seems that it is very difficult to get offer for sport. Or rather vacancies are limited. It is quite easily get into UG. Anyone has been allocated to club? DS friend just put sport options and no others but still given npcc. Many of my ds's friends get into the CCA that is not in any of their options and those promised a place during the trial were also not posted to the CCA. :?

My friend ds has got grade 7 violin and distinction somemore, put string assembly but given ncc. In the end he got to get it thru appealing. What I meant was string assembly is an obvious match but why is he not given it in the first place and has to go thru appeal?

My ds (sec 3) told me it is optional to sign up for CL O Level this year, the teacher encouraged those who are weak in Chinese to sign up. In any case, ALL will take HCL O Level in Sec 4.

My DS doing Grade 8 piano and went thru test for \"Choir\" learned that with a grade A or B+ (put as first first choice) high chance . He got in ...(heard can get to travel overseas - heavy sub $) easily hit CIP ... -

To clarify, my friend ds case happen four years ago. Believe they have fine tune the system and process. So now it is really, they look for your talent in first priority. Your ds's friend must have submitted his music qualification some where

Not to forget, sport is for competition and not for recreation. So they have to pick the best candidates. I guess if a candidate has multiple talent, then they might allocate him to a CCA which has more need of his talent... just my guess la

Oh so only those students weak in Chinese are \"encouraged\" - I guess so they have 2 chances to try to get better grade. But any idea if they are signing for HCL or CL in Sec 3 now?
