Austin had worked for me for about 2 years in 2013-2014 (thereabouts). She is an Indo helper in her 40s and very experienced working in Singapore, for both local families and expat families. She is patient with young kids and has taken care of infants. She has a kind heart and loves dogs too. Her English is excellent.
She is an independent and honest worker. She can cook Chinese dishes as well as Western - she whips up a mean lagsana.
She contacted me recently to say she is looking for new employer. Although we have not met for about 4 years, we keep in touch through whatsapp.
if you are looking for a helper, do give her a try. She may be older than most and not as beautiful as the younger maids, but she is patient and dependable. If you are keen, please PM me and I will give you her mobile so you can contact her directly for interview. Please conduct your own checks and due diligence tests and ask your questions. I am just helping her out and am not getting any benefit/commission out of this
. :thankyou:

RE: Looking for transfer helper
We are family with 2 teens and a dog. Both parents work full time. No kids to take care of and no elderly.
I am looking for a helper who is good at cooking Chinese dishes without supervision. Also the usual cleaning, laundry and ironing.
And who is not scared of dog.
Do you know of anyone who is available? Can be immediate or I can wait for a few weeks. Am ok to Filipino or Indonesian, though we are more used to indonesian helpers all these 20 years.
Thanks -
RE: Looking for transfer maid
We are a Chinese Singaporean family of 4( including 2 teenagers) and home is a 3 bedroom condo apartment near Redhill MRT.
Our helper has gone home after finishing contract and we are looking for a new helper. Starting date preferably as soon as possible.
Both parents work so we are looking for someone cheerful and well organised. Highest priority is cooking, followed by general housework. Also need to walk our dog.
I usually will do direct hire and can handle the transfer paperwork. If you have any maid available, please PM me. Thanks! -
RE: Social dancing with hubby
My children are in their late teens.
We have more time on our hands.
I am considering allocating some time on learning social dancing. Does anyone have any recommendations on dance schools for adults? Is Shawn and Gladys suitable? Or DanceSport Academy? Or should I just go sign up at a community club?
My hubby prefers weekends as he has to travel for work on weekdays. -
RE: Travel: United Kingdom - London
Thanks Jetsetter. Just checked it out but the rate is for 2 adults and 2 children. Mine are 16 and 18. Got to add 42 pounds for each adult starting from 3rd adult...

RE: Travel: United Kingdom - London
Hi Jetsetter,
My budget is about £250 per night for all four persons or £130 for 2 persons on twin sharing basis. Which means we need 2 hotel rooms since my teens are considered adults i think being 16 and 18.
Not $250 for 4 pax per night...cant even get Ibis at that rate...

RE: Travel: United Kingdom - London
Yes, my eyeballs are bursting with the constant surfing and reading reviews of different hotels/ accomodation. We will be in London in mid Dec 15 for 4 nights. So can actually qualify for those requiring minimum 4 nights stay. After discussion with my family we will require 2 bathrooms. As for the split level ac omodation, I dont understand why that may pose a problem? Hope you can share some of your research. Many thanks!

RE: Travel: United Kingdom - London
As we have 2 late teens with us, privacy is an issue. So is bathrooms usage.
So I have to look for those with 2 bathrooms. I checked some bed and breakfast places that are privately run. But most are in houses with no lifts and elevators, which can pose a problem cos of our luggages...and of course me knees. :xedfingers: -
RE: Travel: United Kingdom - London
As we are staying 4 nights, and with 2 kids in their late teens, it will be good if we can get a 2 bedroom apt with 2 bathrooms. Any suggestions, Honey ?
If not, we will have to stick to the Ibis small rooms at 130 pounds per room per night. But those do not have microwave ovens etc. So sad...
