Just heard that there will be more n more problem sum for Maths (DS in P2 for 2011) n MPM will not be suitable. Was told to go for Just Education.

DS started Jelic and follow with MPM.
      Like to hv some feedback.

Actually MPM has changed their workbooks over the past few years. I guess it was because of parents like me who complain that their workbooks are lack of problem sums questions. So now, it has more problem sums. In fact, all workbooks has problem sums starting maybe second half of Pri 1 (can’t really remember as their workbooks has to be returned after completion). I find MPM is a good Maths foundation for lower primary school students (K1 to P2). But you must find the right MPM centre with qualify & experience teacher as I have came across 1 centre in the East that I find the teacher is not qualify to teach (although the centre-in-charge said that she was trained). Make sure there are at least 2 teachers in the centre as this would really help your child to complete his/her workbooks faster in the centre. Good luck!

          Hi all,

Can anyone advise me which centre is suitable for my son to train him to be more focus.

He is very careless in his work e.g. missed out a number in transferring answer from workings to equation, or did addition in the subtraction workings or vice versa, etc. I will normally find careless mistakes in his homework even though he said he had checked his work. He gave away 20 over marks due to careless mistakes in last year’s CA2 and also SA2 exams.

Can anyone who has similar problem share with me what to do to help him improve?

My boy has been on mpm since k2. Since he started late, even though he is in P1 now, he is still on the k2 books. The MPM teachers said that he’ll start on MPM P1 after he finish all the k2 books.

Is it too late by then ? should I request for him to start on the P1 books immediately ?

Can parents feedback whether MPM is really useful for P1 - P3 ? Cos when my boy does the Andrew Er’s assessment books, we find that he still cannot understand certain maths concepts.

Being quite a new ‘kiasu parent’, I only started my children in enrichments lessons this year. Now they are 5 and 7. My friend referred me into E.nopi Math and English. Now my children are more motvated to study and are more interested in studying. Previously, it was a chore just to get them to do any work.

The worksheets and colourful and full of activities. Although the lower levels so not really coincide with the local schools, it is a good supplement to what they are learning in school. I can see my P1 boy grasping the concepts faster. The critical thinking especially is fantastic.

It takes a lot of pressure off and I guess the most important thing is that they are improving and enjoying it at the same time.

BTW, I heard they having a free registration this month.

Enopi math is worksheet based. I find it boring for children. Worksheet based learning is equivalent to practice blindly which does not make it perfect.

Children should enjoy childhood. Experential learning or game based enrichment programs are better for children. Learning while playing is better than going for worksheet based programs such as Enopi.
