my son said he sang \"my grandfather's clock\", and had gone to the music room twice. this week, he was given a black music file, he had to draw or paste a photo for the file cover and that's about it...

Ya my girl got a black file and we pasted a picture of her favourite instrument... but I asked her got sing song, her reply was \"no\". -

I remembered my music Teacher in P1 and P2, Miss Toh, who is pretty stern. So we would always walk to the music room quietly and neatly 2 by 2 !
Now with HSR there, they've added some structure to the building...but fond memories will still flood back when I pass by it to pick my DS up ! -

The music teacher was Miss Monica Toh. Indeed she was very stern.

I remember at the P1 briefing, the school mentioned that for English there is an additional grammar book but has not been printed yet thus they would photocopy the 1st few units for the kids to start learning. The book would be given to the kids when the printing is completed. But according to my child, they have not used it in class yet thou he has been bringing it to school daily. Any comments on it?

Hi marmum,
are you referring to the blue grammer book ? My DS's class has been using it quite often leh. Different teacher might have different practice though. -
Yup, the teachers use this book differently. My daughter, currently in P2, has just started using this more frequently. In P1, she hardly use the book.
-
yes. indeed. Different teacher carry out the teaching different way. My elder son is in P3 now, he didn't do any exercises in P1, did a little in P2 and now in P3, the book is no longer relevent!! :x
My younger son is in p 1 and again, his teacher doesn't do anything at at. So, my best bet is, ask the teacher and if she's not doing, we can do it ourselves
.
It's our job now.
I'm struggling with my elder son's chinese. Anyone has a good tutor to recommend? Tried tien xia but long waiting list lei.... :x -

Homework in P1 should be minimal, or at least that was the case with my daughter last year. This year (P2) she has homework almost every day.
