the challenge is always to find the right balance, and a lot of trial and error. as parents we will always be faced with the struggle of whether we are doing enough for the child.Oh my, it does sound like a lot for a 3.5yr to cope. Just wondering if your child might be overly tired from all the stimulation. I guess it also depends on how long it is per session. For a child that age, anything more than 30 mins can get rather tiring.
Sorry, can't give u much input here. Dd1 did her ST 10 yrs back and it was less complicated than what it is now.. During her time, there was no Hanen prog in Spore. I managed to get the book and video and tried to go thru the prog wither dd1. It was a real challenge as I was not trained. So, it's good that there are good support, help and resources available now.
Guess a lot depends on the child. If you dd is not going to nursery sch at the moment, then I guess it may not be a bad idea to try her out on the various ST sessions. More importantly, just watch and observe how she is coping. Take the lead from the child. If she's too tired or overly stimulated, then perhaps pace the different progs, and not cramp all the activities at once.
Just my humble opinion
based on what i have gathered so far after speaking to some people, speech therapy should focus on speech, ie. on the different techniques to elicit and build speech. some literacy and numeric could be incorporated if the therapist wants to build some vocabulary to build speech, but that becomes a supporting activity, and the focus remains on speech. literacy and numeric skills, functional comms, social skills should be taken up by other therapy areas such as OT, school, etc. -

i got my psychologist report from a practitioner in the private practice. she is part of a group that offers specch therapy and OT. dont need to wait for a few months in queue, but fees are not cheap. She is professional, but distant.Hello, new to this forum. I need to sent my 6yr old boy for a school readiness assessment. The school needs this report to ascertain if my son can go to mainstream or not.
I think I dont want to wait and queue at subsidized rate. EIPIC (my son's early intervention school) needs the report asap & told me the wait list for special school is long.
Anybody out there has good psychologist contact? Pls advise, thanks!
let me know if you would like her contact and I could PM you. -

Hi trijoy,Hi Parents,
I need to know if there's reasonable priced kindy in Tampines/ Pasir Ris/ Simei that will take in my son ? as I wanted him to attend mainstream kindy with teachers who are happened to be SN trained. Those special schools r too expensive for us. Thanks
There is an Intergrated Childcare Program (ICCP) run by the Presbyterian Community Services at various childcare centres. They have a centre in Tampines.
Some of the teachers are SN trained and the SN child can learn alongside his/her peers in a mainstream classroom setting. See http://www.pcs.org.sg/iccp.html
Call the centres to check which class teachers are SN trained so that the SN child goes into a class run by SN trained teachers are in and not into a class with non SN trained teachers.
Before the SN child actually joins his peers in the mainstream classroom, there is an initial 1-1 training program which lasts 20 sessions. Once he is assessed as ready for mainstream classes by the trainer, he'll join the regular childcare classes and pays the same rates. -
Does anyone know of primary schools with good AED support for ASD kids, in particular in the Serangoon/Hougang area?
This question was raised before in this thread but I can't find the answer
The MOE website lists the SECONDARY schools with AED support for ASD. Can't find the PRIMARY school list
