Carelessness seem to be part and parcel of growing up.

Yesterday, while going thr math wif ds,told him, tomolo, I will not be performing u in the exam, u are going solo, so , all the best for his solo peformance. No pressure given to him, just want to let him know that he must learn how to handle exam condition himself.

      cheers

DS as usual came back with unsatisfactory EL and CL results. A handful of mistakes due to carelessness, but mostly overall can see language foundation not exactly there.

Anyone has any effective way to try to improve languages from now till PSLE? I know time is short and it is not easy to see results for languages in a short time, but I am hoping for some tips on how to improve certain sections of the EL or CL paper to assist to pull up the overall marks. Thanks in advance for the sharing.

To remove careless mistakes is always something what we parents HOPE the kids will ultimately learn and reduce to the minimum. šŸ™ šŸ™
Careless mistakes cannot be prevented but we can only hope to reduce, esp in a stressful situation during exam. I've always added up the marks for his careless mistakes and shown him what his total score will be had he been more attentive and be careful.

                Hi Pen88n,

Go through the paper and find out which section he is weaker and zoom in from there.

For mcq kind of questions, practise more.As it it , practise make perfect.

                Cheers

                Hi Pen88n

Agree with Leanne's suggestion. Put more practice on the specific area or look out a pattern or method than can help them to remember/grasp better.

DS very careless.. 2 marks taken away for paper 2. 😢

:celebrate: he scored 98 for MA is to call for :celebrate: :celebrate:

šŸ˜„ Maths is always his favourite subject. But not Science, CL and HMT. I believe your DS also do pretty well in his CA1, esp Maths.
:congrats:. The lossing of one - two marks infact would make them å’¬ē‰™åˆ‡é½æ and aim to work extra harder or careful the next time.

I have a problem with son too.

Need to do intensive work with him.
You mentioned writing compo and doing oral regularly...what reference book do you use ? I'm planning to get my son to write a compo every week and also work on his oral from now till SA1. If I squeeze in compo and oral, something has to give but I don't know which area 😢
Comprehension, cloze, synthesis are all crucial

                      Dear Janet

Don't worry so much as there still have time to improve.:hugs: Usually \"speed\" is an issue if this can be resoved then everything will be ok lah.

Do I focus on his accuracy or speed for Maths Part 1 now ?
