Where can I find the list of CCA that the school offer? I tried the school website but can’t seem to find them.
Also, if anyone know if the school will be in double session with the move to ITE next year?

One question though, what does the PTA cca means? Are they conducted by the PTA? Can anyone join them? -
Hi jenao
I recall during orientation, someone running one of the booth telling me that cca from PTA are for those Pri 1 n 2. Official cca starts in Pri 3. there r parents who want their kids to b able to get into certain cca like wushu are advised to register their kids with them early. The times for these cca are on sat or sun. I prefer to keep my weekends free so didn’t join any.
Hi twinkle
Seems that magazine subscription is "compulsory". My boy doesn’t bring any Chinese homework home except hao Peng you. I noted that some of the hanyi pinyin for spelling is also practiced in the mag.
Sch holidays soon. My son will miss sch, friends, teachers, sch bus n canteen food -
Hi,
My girl is born in 2007 and I am thinking of doing PV for Roysth. How did you all accumulate the 70 hours for the PV? Will the school tell you before hand the number of hours allocated for each job?
Thanks in advance. -

If the parent is called for interview, sch deem suitable, they will offer certain time slots (eg 9-11am, 11-1pm, etc) for patents to select for regular service.
Some parents r not working, some r in own biz or sales job so can come out during office hours; some may take regular leave/ time off to serve.
For me, I selected my preferred day n time (eg wed 9-11) n roster into the library to serve fortnightly. Some parents r serving in canteen to gv out fruits; some in games room. These r regular service for normal parents.
With regular time to serve, some r still unable to clock enough hours, there r ad hoc duties- eg open house, if they need people to take temp or b ushers; or orientation, to test kids for their 100words; or special HPB program, to b helpers, the sch may call theses parents w insufficient hours to come back.
Every Time we serve, we need to go gate 1 n sign in for our badge n write time in/ out. Then we go to our personal file to write time in/ out.so we generally hv an idea how many hours we serve.
I started serving in aug when my son was Nursery in 2008. Served through entire K1 (2009) n till may in K2 (2010) in the library. Usually the sch will see the files when parents kids r starting k2. Those that dont hv enough hours, there will b special duties allocated. Heard that if don't hv minimal no of hours that the sch expects, they can DON'T provide the letter to revognize that parent as parent volunteer.
I enjoyed the times served as I got to talk to the kids, see their teachers n books. The sch operations is v efficient n they r v clear that they require commitment from the parents. The duration of service (aug 2008- may 2011) is more or less fixed.
I heard from other friends serving in Grassroot, one may start serving for a few months b4 they r 'registered' in the system. Heard also need to serve for >1year b4 there's any recognition as a Grassroot volunteer. Must b in the GRC that Rosyth is in. If your house in not in that GRC, that Grassroot /RC won't accept u so got to move house to serve in amk RC. And must make yourself known to Grassroot leader that u r serving 4 sch registration so they can make your service official (not sure if they hv file to track your hours). Grassroot service r usually after office hours (eg meeting residents, community events on sat/ sun) even after you hv register ur kid for pei 1, the RC expects one to continue to serve, unlike Rosyth can retire already:)
But of course there r other perks to serve in RC
Wish u all the best in your application as Rosyth parent volunteer -
Hi Tarzen_girl,
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I have already sent in my application, hope to hear from the school in May.
I totally agreed that the best way to know the school is to serve as a parent volunteer as you can interact with the kids and teacher.
Thanks once again. -
Can anyone help me? Is kensington park condo within 1km of Rosyth school? Also, i have submitted my PV volunteer form but i am staying now at Woodlands. Will this affect my chances of being selected? But i will move to Kensington park or regentville this year.
Thanks.

based on my husband’s research, Kensington Park should be within 1 KM of Rosyth. Other FH condo to consider within 1KM is Nouvelle Park and Fontaine Parry.
PV application for Rosyth will only have results in September! Gosh! It’s a long wait! -
Hi just rec’d son’s P1 report book.
Anyone knows how the teacher tabulate the marks?
What is the weightage for CA and SA?
What is the weightage for Show & Tell, Compo writing, Mini Test, Reading, etc.
Are Spelling counted as well?
