Pat's Schoolhouse

Pat's is not a franchise. They do have associate schools though (the school uses the curriculum but is run independently). I like their structured curriculum and so far most of the teachers I have encountered are responsible and caring (definitely capable)...Hi,
I heard that Pat's would be opening a new branch at Whitley and I am interested in sending dd there.
Can anyone tell me if Pat's is a franchise and if standards are the same in all branches?
Also, I would like to find out more about Arena branch's principal Mel, as I found out that she would be transferred to head the Whitley branch.
I'm not sure whether standards are the same as I have not gone to the other branches, but they do follow the same curriculum, materials. The workshops, curriculum, school carnival, graduation are all combined activities with all the branches.
Both of my ds enjoy going to school.

thanks for your feedback. In your view, what makes paying the extra premium worth it at Pat's? Have both your ds been to Pat's since they started school? If not, do you see the difference since they joined Pat's?
Sorry for all the questions, appreciate your sharing

Hi, is definitely worth to pay for Patโs Schoolhouse. i registered my nephew into the one at Claymore when he was 4 years old. due to lack of communicate, he only utter a few words. after 6 mths in Patโs, he converse better, learn lots of things. now, 6 years old, still in Patโs K2. they are preparing him for P1 already. Good job!

I visited Pats sch-hse at Arena. Am very disappointed with what I have witnessed for the premium that I paid for.
Firstly, there was only 1 teacher at the play area more than 10 kids and there are those tricycles with big heavy wheels that are definitely dangerous for those poor little feets running ard the place. There were kids who climbed and fell down, kids who were running ard playing with the toy cars w/o much attention. It's just too much for 1 teacher to handle. When asked the principal, she mentioned that the other teacher is on course, then they shld get a relief , isnt it ?
Secondly, I was in the washroom and there was this little girl who went to the washroom by herself and asking me to help her to turn on the tap. How could this be happening with no one watching ??
And the toilets are also not cleaned, toilet bowls full of urine and papers..no one even noticed or flushed them away. Even if the bigger kids were to use the toilets, at least they shld be taught proper hygiene. Or the minimum employ a full time cleaner to maintain the hygiene.
When I was there, I only saw this auntie walking in/out of kitchen...Im not sure what's her role
I have very good experiences at the current sch that my kid is attending and it's just far apart in stds even though the fee is abt the same.
Heard so much good things abt Pats and Im not sure now , contemplating to withdraw my kid.
I wish some parents who have sent their children to this center gives me some positive feedback and hope it's just not my high expectations or basic expectations ?? -
hi snowbee,
My gal's in halifax and i see loads of teachers there in the morning when i arrive at abt 8.15am. Kids will be playing in the playground and fm what i see there are at least 4 teachers there.
If you meant the play times for nursery & playgroups, i remembered its generally 2-3 teachers to abt 14 kids.
I undertstand thru the parents there, those tricycles with big wheels are very safe and costs a bomb ! Abt $900+ i think
The aunties you see there are the ones preparing food and cleaning the place.
I hv seen the toilets in the mornings when it was just cleaned, it can be a bit wet. And in the afternoons, its still fine by my standard.
Whenever i ask my daughter if she finds the toilet dirty, she says its not , so i believed her cos she can be picky abt toilets
Basically i hv no qualms to the handling of hygiene in Halifax.
Not sure on other locations. -

I did not even know that Principal Melinda is gone and the chinese principal is back. like u, i prefer dealing with the Ms Tan, the chinese principal.Hi
Both my children are in the school. The Principal Mel is pretty new (less than a year here) but there is another Chinese Principal (as in she was a chinese teacher in other branches before) who has just came back from Chicago and has resumed her duties recently. Frankly I had a little issue with Mel so I'm glad tt the chinese principal is back. You can pm me if you are keen to find out more. -

i did not know they left the children with 1 teacher at the playground! There should b a relief teacher esp for those younger classes.
