Jet Li take up citizenship here and move to Bukit Timah. So, this will grant him citizen benefit such as priority for P1 registration to top primary schools. Wonder what in return he will contribute to the nation ... ๐Ÿ˜Ž

Property tax for his multi-million dollar house ๐Ÿ˜„

income tax would be nicer ...

Hi, sorry, moving away from story of Jet Li.

Anyone know of any missionary girls' school (close to public transport, preferably an mrt station) that is reasonably good academically and is known to have teachers who are caring?

          Thanks for info!

Hi, the developer of the condo that we bought has just issued a TOP letter to us. but we are not moving in until September, after renovation. Can we use the TOP letter to register our son for a school within one kilometer of the new condo?

The following taken from the MOE website:

J: For Registration using address of yet-to-be completed property

An original Sales and Purchase document is required if the address of a yet-to-be completed property is used for registration. A copy of this document is to be retained by the school. Parents using the yet-to-be completed property address for registering their child in a school of choice must move into the new property within two years of the childโ€™s entry into Primary One. For this purpose, the date of commitment by the developer in T.O.P (Temporary Occupation Permit) must not be later than 31 Dec 2011.

                  Hi!

So, what will be the address shown in your NRIC? That's where the home-school distance based on.

I suppose if you are using your new address (TOP property) to register your child in the school, it might be a good idea to change your IC address now.

I am assuming moving in Sept is all because of leadtime for renovation. Itโ€™s a good idea to change your address on your IC. To do so, you need to prove Power supply/ Credit card bills. Itโ€™s good to start diverting the letters as it usually takes a while to ensure that all your letters are 99%diverted to your new address. So July is not too early if you are gg to shift in Sept.

but we need to do all that in such a short time. We received our keys only last week, and Phase 2C is next wednesday.

Would it be easier just to pretend that our condo is yet to be constructed, and show the school the purchase and sale agreement?

Even if you show the school the purchase and sale agreement, you need to prove that the development will TOP by 31 Dec 2011. Usually, the TOP date shown in purchase and sale agreement is conservative.
