Titank, still undecided??? I’m going to RVPS tomorrow, probably towards the end of the registration timeline to gauge whether I’ll be successful as well.

Hi Raynreg!
Your child qualifies for Phase 2B in RVPS? -

Raynreg,
Think RVPS should be quite safe to go down as they have 60 places.
I still not yet decided which Primary School at this moment now. -
Hi qms
Yes, 2B for me @ RVPS
Hi Titank
Just received SMS from the school that I've completed the PV & they remind me of my registration tomorrow. -
Dear All
Can anyone enlighten me on how to monitor the vacancies at Phase 2C? I am aiming for either RMPS (1-2km) or RVPS (>2km). I see suggestions to register on the last day of the registration period but I was wondering how to tell which school will have more likihood of no balloting?
The MOE website and Kiasu parent website does not show the number of applications according to distance for each phase. Do I call up the school to ask at the end of each day? Will they tell me how many applications they have received for <1km>2km?
I am thinking of changing my plans to register for Zhangde Primary which is <1 km but my hubby is not too keen to have my daughter in the same school as his newphew. He was thinking we can just fall back on Queenstown Primary at Phase 2C supplementary if we are not successful with RMPS. Can anyone give some advice/ comparison between Zhangde and Queenstown? -

You need to monitor the RMPS places in Phase 2C as this year very likely balloting at 1Km range for RMPS.In the past , it is use to to be 1-2Km balloting.
You may want to consider ballloting at RVPS for more than 2km range at Phase 2C. if you really failed in RVPS then still can fall back at Queesnstown, New Town, Gan Eng Seng & Blangah Rise.
ZDPS rank 2nd in Bukit Merah after RMPS & CHIK (Kellock) by putting them in Rank 1 in the Bukit Merah category. Since you are in 1km range of ZDPS, should not be any problem getting in.That is how I view at it. -

Hi mimiof2!
I think when you talk about these two schools, it is a matter of what distance balloting will occur, rather than whether there is balloting or not.
To monitor, you will have to call the school, maybe on the morning of the third day, so that you can make up your mind and register in the afternoon.mimiof2:
Not too sure about RMPS and RVPS, but I suppose if they receive more applications than number of vacancies for a particular distance category, they should (by right) tell you accordingly so that you do not waste your chance, and proceed to apply at other schools in this phase.The MOE website and Kiasu parent website does not show the number of applications according to distance for each phase. Do I call up the school to ask at the end of each day? Will they tell me how many applications they have received for <1km>2km?

Actually, your best bet in Phase 2C is Zhang De, considering the balloting history, and the current take-up rate. Zhang De is strong in their character development. Any reason why your husband is not keen in the school, besides the fact that his nephew is in the school, too?I am thinking of changing my plans to register for Zhangde Primary which is <1 km but my hubby is not too keen to have my daughter in the same school as his newphew. I attended the open house of Zhang De last year, and I must say I was very impressed with them and the way they organised the open house. -
Hi mimiof2
Nothing is official until the registration closes. By registering on the last day of Phase 2C, you will be able to "guage" the number of appliants against the number of vacanies available. If number of applicants > number of vacanies, there would be balloting. As to balloting at which category (ie. >2 km or within 1km), that I can’t tell either.
But forumers here have given their views that RMPS is highly likely to go into balloting at within 1km range. -

Just know the following score that had registered at Phase 2B of Day 1.
RVPS = 28
RMPS = 15-19 (Estimate)
ZDPS = 0 (Maybe do not have PV),watch out for MOE website update

Thanks everyone for your great advice. Honestly, I am getting quite stressed with this whole P1 registration exercise. MOE really should review the whole process. It’s just crazy to have so many phases and differentiation.
