May I know if anyone know the minimum membership tenure cut-off for Ai Tong and TNS for this year SHHK recommendation?radiantmum:
I believe cut-off years vary for different SHHK schools. So far I know of someone whom was not recommended for Tao Nan though SHHK member for 2 years.
:? Wonder what is SHHK's basis for recommendation. I also know of someone who has been a SHHK member for 2 years, and he was recommended for Tao Nan. -

Just preliminary planning cos worried the 2 child in same school would fight. Maybe as a standby. Also if RMPS performance no good then I can let the 2nd child try other schools.
Hi Titank!
Given the popularity of RMPS, the other parents in the subsequent phases will be grateful to you if you end up sending your second child to a different school.

Am not sure for Ai Tong, but for TNS, someone I know got recommend even if his membership is less than 2 years.

When I spoke with SHHK on TNS tenure, they said that their guideline is 2 years. But if there is not enough letters to give out, there are other factors to consider.

Also, in the SHHK form for Phase 2B, you can specify the activities you joined and if you know of any council member in SHHK who can endorse you. This latter plays a huge part. Council members also got limited endorsement counts. I think it is 2 but not sure.
I know of someone who is not even SHHK member but someone impt in SHHK back him up to get recommendation. -
Like that going to check it out fron SHHK what is the minimum tenure of membership in order to have letter.
Wow still require to get endorsement? Like that see anyone can endorse & I pay some $$ for his membership. -

It defers from year to year, depending on that year's birth rate and take up rate. The general rule is if you have 2 years or more, you will most probably get the letter. -

Good grief titank! :faint: What are the logistics of having kids in 2 different schools. They are in different classes and levels lah, I think chances of fighting is low. Also, what assurance do you have that the other school will have a better standard?
Just preliminary planning cos worried the 2 child in same school would fight. Maybe as a standby. Also if RMPS performance no good then I can let the 2nd child try other schools.
I think the time, energy, money and headache saved is substantial in having the kids the same school, not to mention further PV or clan activity, and can be applied more productively to correcting any deficiencies in the school performance, or child behaviours (fighting).

Endorsement is optional. Just to give that extra ooomph to your application.Like that going to check it out fron SHHK what is the minimum tenure of membership in order to have letter.

Otherwise, just rely on tenure. Make sure at least 2 years for TNS to get any chance. -

Is it just me or does anyone else feel uncomfortable about the arbitrariness of it all?

Hi 3Boys, I don't think it is totally arbitrary. Refer to my earliest post, I think the process take into consideration the total no of vacancies left for phase 2B in any school, and the total no of members applying for it. If the no is too much over the vacancies, the SHHK has no choice but to apply a more stringent selection process. In other schools where the no of applicants/vacancies ratio is not so high, they can be more lenient.
