radiantmum:
sorry if i sound sotong cos still cant really figure out the math.
2009 End Phase 2B CF results out : 96 applicants for 80 vacancies. Statistics looks promising end of Phase 2A2 which had approx 5% less applicants but sob sob above statement no longer valid- - applications suddenly \"overrun\" by more than 20% (past years only approx 15%). 16 pair of parents will be disappointed ... hopefully I am not the one (sorry, system forces me to be selfish -yaks!). By the way, I had been informed that in 2008 balloting >2km, it was 36 vying for balance 30 places.Imp75:
2003 is a low birth rate year and yet schools are still keeping their enrollment the same so chances of getting into CF under Phase2B without balloting is pretty high. Compare 80 places in Phase 2B this yr vz 67 places last yr (last yr, 77 applicants under Phase 2B).
I think your chances this yr is pretty high!
Interestingly, I thought Nanyang Primary manages their phase 2B application numbers/PV control really well this year. Numbers applied = numbers available, hence no balloting is required. Certainly more humane
& for those of you whom are interested to know, SHHK recommended 26 people for CF this year (PS: unofficial, I peeked or rather it's just in front for me to see). All SHHK registration is only in day 2 for CF. So it should be 71+26 = 97. 1 missing or simply change mind and drop out soul here, bless him/her :celebrate: .
Friday is THE day! Honestly, why does MOE have to subject parents through such unncessary stress I wonder? Why can't they administer primary school allocation like secondary's ie 1 phase indicating 1st, 2nd etc choices of school?
On the positive note, I had not been this excited for quite a while. Geez, if ever I get hook on lottery chances aka \"vice\", it's all kick start by P1 Registration :rahrah:
there are 80 vacancies and 96 applications for CF. Based on history, balloting only happens for >2km. while we know 16 sets of parents will be disappointed, do we know at this moment how many parents need to ballot and for how many spaces? -
It's ok - no hidden maths numbers 'cos I dont know as well
I suppose we can call the school to ask or wait for some kindhearted soul to post it here. -
Okay I decided to be THE kind soul … CF said this Fri’s Phase 2B balloting is 36 applicants for 20 places (all >2km).

I am a current volunteer in CF. You need to clock min 60 hrs.
According to past yr stats (since a few yrs back when CF got balloting for Phase 2B), only > 2km requires ballloting but past stats cant promise the future! Just look at the SHHK application this yr! Skew up the stats! -
thanks for the information, radiantmum. ie. 60 places given to those <2km.
didnt know that CF PV hours is 60. minimum stipulated is 40 hours. so siong. -
Going for the Phase 2C application next Wed for my son’s P1 registeration.
I was planning to register for Northland and if unsuccessful, then Northview.
I stay within 1 km of Northland and Northview is just 2 blocks away.
From the stats, it seems that Northland has 91 place left for Phase 2C. What I don’t understand is that why Northland’s Phase 2C APP rate can range from 100+ to 300+ for the past year. I am crossing my fingers that it will be 100+ this year.
Can anyone advice on the school facilities and activities for Northland and Northview?
I was from St Nicholas and the school had very good facilities, big library, computer facilities and lotsa CCA. Not very familiar with neighbourhood schools. Is Northland and Northview’s environment very far apart? I heard Northview is quite good also. Any views? -
Oh yah, forgot to ask … where do we park if we drive? Will it be very jam? I heard from my friend that many people during phase 2 C.
-
I am looking for Kitty who PM me. Can you please reply to me or PM me? Thanks.

Could anybody help, my cousin’s daughter did not get balloted into Northland pri sch this morning, I am trying to help her with Phase 2C Sup with other choices in Yishun, as she is a single mum.
We are looking at Yishun Pri and Ahmad Ibrahim sch and Northveiw. Which sch is better in terms of acadamic acheivment, teachers commitment and sch enviroment. I know nothing of these schools, any parents care to share their experiences.
