Hi,
I’m looking to send my boy to a good enrichment program. Have got some background of SM through the sharing of parents here…
I was surfing and ended up at My Little Genius website.
Have anyone been to the program?
I have passed it a few times along Upper Serangoon Rd but have never gone in to check it out…
Anyone able to share your experience with the program?
Thanks! -
Hi,
My child has been attending My Little Genius for the past 5 wks. So far, I like what I see and my child who is 2 yrs plus seems to be enjoying the activities. It is still too early to tell whether my child is benefiting as it has only been 5 weeks. Most important to me is he enjoys it.
My older child who is now 5 yrs old had attended SM for 1.5 yrs before I stopped him last yr. I am very unhappy abt the way I was treated when I was there. Think they are getting a little too arrogant although my child did benefitted from the program.
From what I can see, both SM and my little genius are doing similiar things, brain stimulaation. The thing that I like abt my little genius is that it is a bilingual programme and the materials are nicer and they do have some added activities. I also like the fact that they are not doing ESP. I am not comfortable with ESP. The teachers in my little genius is also nice and the staff are friendly.
You can call them to book a preview session to know more.
Cheers. -

I'm glad to hear that yr child is enjoying My Little Genius program.
Hope you don't mind sharing with me some questions that i'm curious about....
How does the bilingual program help the children?
Will they get confuse to be learning so many languages at such a young age?
What do you think is a good age to start?
Cheers! :celebrate:

Hi Micollh,
I was not treated very well by the admin staff. Had also seen and spoke to the founder for a short while. I feel feel good talking to her. Same sense of arrogance. Don’t want my child to be in a sch lead by a person I am totaly not comfortable with.Teacher still ok but changed teacher and new teacher don’t seem to be properly trained. Oh, I was in TPY. Anyway, that’s in the past. Good for you u got a ok teacher.
Most impt my child is enjoying the time at mylittlegenius and alot of the activities are similar. Will see how it goes. -

Hi Curiousdaddy,
It might be good for you to book a preview session with them as they conduct previeww session regularly in the centre. They should be a ble to answer your qn. I am not a professional in this aspect. Think you can check out their website http://www.mylittlegenius.com.sg to book a session.
I like bilingual as my experience with my elder child is that he was not exposed to chinese and is now quite adverse to spaeking chinese. All his enrichment was in english. I don't want the same to happen to my younger one. So if there is an brain stimulation centre that can also expose my younger one to chinese language, why not? My younger one just need more exposure as I believe their lang ability depends on what they had been exposed to since young. Don't want to make the same mistake as elder one.
My younger one has learned some simple chinese words since attending the mylittlegenius class. When he see the chinese teacher, he automatically call her lao shi and the english teacher, teacher. So I think he knows that she is a chinese teacher and should speak to her in mandarian. At least this is what I see for a start which I think is great!
Hope I answered your qns. -
Thx Ed1975!
Will book for a Preview and see how it goes!
