Thank you.... *sigh* didn't expect this P1 registration to be so \"exciting\"...
Looking at the balloting history since 2006, given the same intake of 210, the TUR after Phase 2B were 83% for 2006, 71% for 2007 & 75% for both 2008 & 2009. A place was not guaranteed within 1km for 2006 but were so for 2007 & 2008. I suggest you monitor till the last day unless you die die want to try for CHIJ TP.dun-wanna-stress-out:
Dear fellow kiasu-ers,
I just rang up CHIJ TP and found out there are 53 vacancies for phase 2C. (I'm going for this phase). Anybody knows if this is abt the same no. of vacancies for the last few years? I'm within 1 km. Should I just go for it or monitor till the last day of registration then decide? (monitoring St mar's too).
Appreciate advice. Thanks. -
Those staying within 1km should be able to get in. 2006 is an exceptional year, because it's for the dragon babies. NO need to ballot if within 1km for the past five years(except 2006).

Hi, I just range up CHIJ TP and found out there are 53 vacancies left for Phase 2C. Would anyone know if this is abt the same no. of vacancies the last few years? I'm within 1 km. Should I go for it?Appreciate reply. Thanks.
To answer ur question, there were also 53 vacancies for phase 2C last year. And there were no balloting for those staying within 1km for the last 2 years. Good luck ! -
Thanks !!! Really appreciate. Feel better now.

appreciate any suggestions...hi, all the helping mummies and daddies,
i am staying at toa payoh central and near to both pei chun and kheng cheng. checked this year registration status, there will be around 60 vacancies in 2C, while for kheng cheng, last year in kheng cheng, there are 38 vacancies in 2CS. do you guys think i should try to register for pei chun and try? :?
thanks a lot for the advice.
by the way, i stay <1km for both schools. -

Pei Chun is pretty hot this year... there is probably balloting in Phase 2C for less than 1km with a chance of 1 in 2. Conversely, Kheng Cheng has lagged slightly so far. Most parents would take on the risk of trying for Pei Chun in Phase 2C, using Kheng Cheng as a backup. That sounds logical, but I must caution that the influx of parents using Kheng Cheng as a backup for failure at Phase 2C at other schools may cause Kheng Cheng to require balloting in Phase 2C(S). So if you are a risk taker, go for Pei Chun in Phase 2C with Kheng Cheng as a backup. If you don't like going through any balloting, just go for Kheng Cheng in Phase 2C and focus on preparing your child for Primary 1 instead. -

HI , my son is going to MSH next year (2010) .. any other parents with kids going in too ? and how many are newbies to MSH ? (i.e. not via elder siblings.. like mine) , would like to forma small support network.. many thanks..

Sounds like a great idea tiredmama! You definitely need a support network in the same school because kids can really be quite blur - don't know what homework to do, what are the upcoming tests, spelling lists, etc. Wait... I'll set up a Forum for Parents Support Groups for each school! -
